Climate justice is social justice.
Struggling to work in the heat? The government needs to listen to the Climate Change Committee and TUC who are calling for a maximum workplace temperature cap.

And, of course, in the UK, less than 30% of electricity comes from gas.
"Heat pumps just shift gas burning to the power station." Wrong. Even if 100% of electricity came from gas, a heat pump at SCOP 3.8 uses 51% less gas than a boiler. At a terrible SCOP 2.5, still 25% less. David MacKay made this point in 2008. The maths hasn't changed.

Yes vital to accelerate renewables.
After the second fossil fuel crisis in five years, it's clear that clean power is the only route to energy security. The Energy Independence Bill is the next step in our mission: tackling the affordability crisis, creating thousands of jobs and delivering energy security.

Keir will block Burnham and the Greens will win another by-election. Agree with Ted on his estimation of Andy but another Green MP will be positive side effect.
The idea that Andy Burnham is the answer is BOLLOCKS! Sure, he is a good guy but we, the country as a whole, VOTED for Keir Starmer. I fucking despair sometimes. The grass is rarely greener on the other side. @UKLabour

Reform, Labour and the Tories all take money from oil & gas giants and private healthcare interests. That tells you who they’re really working for. The Green Party doesn’t take that money. We answer to you - and to the future of our planet. Vote Green on Thursday. 💚

Solar uses just 0.1% of UK land yet delivers 5 to 6% of our electricity. Even scaling up several-fold to meet future net-zero targets would still take well under 1% of land. Solar generation also helps farmers diversify income while powering the country.
Solar panels on farmland. You can’t eat solar panels.

Denmark's coal-to-wind transition is one of the most dramatic energy transformations of the past three decades. In 1990, coal provided 90% of Danish electricity. Today it is under 3%. Wind now covers roughly 60% of electricity generation.

EU electricity: 29% fossil fuels in 2024, down from 53% in 2005. Progress. But transport 92% fossil. Buildings: 71%. Industry: 61%. 95% of EU oil & 88% of gas imported. Switching suppliers doesn't fix this. Electrification and efficiency do. More here: rdcu.be/feOjc
