History is very clear that economic freedom works. So why are Republicans and Democrats abandoning it? reason.com/2026/06/10/why-ar…

“It is not the government’s business to make a motorcyclist wear a helmet. A man has an inalienable right to bash in his own head if he chooses—but not the head of his neighbor. We want to build a political party on that premise.” – David Nolan (Founder, Libertarian Party)

Corruption.
More than half of the publicly identified donors to President Trump’s White House ballroom project have won new or expanded federal contracts worth more than $50 billion, according to a report from a government watchdog group. wapo.st/4o9GMHL

These donors gave Trump money for his stupid “ballroom” as a quid pro quo. The issue is not so much they gave Trump money, but that none of this is transparent.
Public Citizen found that 14 of the 27 known corporate donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom project have received expanded federal business since the start of his second term. Most of those companies also face federal enforcement actions or have had them paused by the Trump administration.

The sun shines in the winter you dumb fuck. @SecretaryWright
Energy Secretary Chris Wright: "Solar is irrelevant in the winter" (this, dear reader, is false)

The literal context of the conversation was paying taxes to Caesar. Mark 12:14 This chick is dumb. And she blocked me.

@edu_anarchy She blocked me. She is a vile person. The context of the conversation is paying taxes to Caesar. Jesus said pay to Caesar what is Caesar’s. Meaning…pay your taxes.

Nothing you stated is in conflict with what I said. You seem to think when I refer to "voting not to impose their personal preferences on anyone else" that I'm referring to imposing one's personal choices in private property & market exchange, when it is *clear" by my statement referring to *voting* & the context of the thread, that I am referring to the imposition of government (or anyone else) on said private property & market (ie aggression). Neither of us (or anyone else) has a right to prevent the pornographer from selling or sharing consensually adult produced pornographic media to adults on property we do not personally own. Neither of us (or anyone else) has a right to prevent the pastor from leading groups in worship & consensual religious activities (for free or for any form of exchange) on property we do not personally own. Within libertarianism it is quite possible that neither the pornographer nor the pastor would be welcome on *my* private property, or that only one would be welcome on *yours*. Neither of us would be able to determine that for the other. Libertarianism is where *no one has a right to aggress upon someone else's property* - whether that property is the product or fruit of one's labor or one's own body, both implicit in a philosophy of *self ownership* (which is the core of a legal philosophy regarding private property and contracts). Libertarianism simply acknowledges that we get to make that decision for our own property only, and that nobody has a right to prevent either of us from contracting the services of (or engaging with in any consensual capacity) either the pastor or the pornographer.

So this was Browne's more consistent position, as I have been reminded. I did read something back in the 90s that attributed the exact opposite to him, and I wonder if it was the work of a campaign staffer now, but there's more to the story. I'm writing up my whole Libertarian origin story soon. I hope you all get something out of it.

I first heard Gary Johnson say that. I think of libertarianism as fiscally responsible and socially tolerant. I agree with this Harry Browne quote

Myth: The Libertarian Party should just support the Republican candidate that will bring the most liberty. Fact: Outsourcing the message to a major party ruins the leverage of the Libertarian Party. Without a separate, independent party threatening to take votes away, the major parties largely have no incentive to continue their pro-liberty messaging.

The Trump administration’s DOJ is seeking the names, addresses, banking details, and other personal identifying information of multiple users on social media platforms X and Reddit who are critical of ICE. These actions are a blatant attempt to intimidate and unmask critics of the administration exercising their First Amendment rights. As libertarians, we hold that free expression and privacy are fundamental rights. The state does not own its people's words, thoughts, and data. Anonymous speech has shielded dissenters throughout American history, and no administration should wield federal power to chill criticism of its agencies. This action fits a bipartisan pattern of surveillance and intimidation by the administrative state. Free speech and privacy must remain unrestricted from state intimidation. The government’s core function is to protect its citizens' rights, and it has no right to target citizens for dissenting speech.

Grok summary: "This is a bitter, factional attack memo" that will not improve the party and will waste LNC and membership time (the irony). Ignore it and move on. Success will not be found here. Even our eventual overlord sees it.
We were just made aware that this was sent to @LPNational - it's an open letter from 7 anonymous state LP affiliates to the LNC with a number of complaints which could mean the new LNC bit off a lot more than they could chew. The first 4 pages here, the last one in comments.
