2025: the year of discovery and self-discovery.
With the end of the year fast approaching, I found myself reflecting on the past 12 months.
Safe to say, I can call it the year of discovery.
I am not totally new to investing. In fact, I have been investing in crypto for a few years, but I always avoided the stock market—perhaps because I didn’t know how to read a balance sheet or cash flow statement. I was aware that investing in stocks requires analysing an immense amount of data, and I had a lot to learn.
In June, however, I decided to make the jump. I discovered that not only am I rather good at analysing data, but I also have a predisposition to learn anything related to finance, and I love numbers.
This year, I also discovered that I am not invincible. Throughout my 20s, I thought I was indestructible, but now in my 30s, I soon learned that wasn’t the case.
I have always been into fitness and was an avid gym-goer. However, for the past two years, I suffered from extreme back pain, and 12 months ago, I had to give up the gym as the pain became unbearable.
My back is still not fixed, but I miss the fitness lifestyle.
Through some self-reflection, I also discovered that I don’t want to work for someone else anymore and wish to start my own business.
My aims for 2026 are:
- To grow my investment portfolio for my future.
- To get back into the gym, or at least start slowly and build up.
- To start a business and grow it enough to leave my full-time job.
Ultimately, 2025 taught me that social media are not that bad and can be used to network and meet people with the same interests and goals.
I wish to thank everyone here who has been supportive and welcoming, and I hope everyone has a great 2026.
