It is nonsensical for Bitcoiners to get mad at people using fiat to buy stocks if Bitcoin is money. If Bitcoin becomes the global unit of account, people will eventually buy equity with Bitcoin. Equity ownership does not vanish on a Bitcoin standard. Companies still exist. Claims on productive enterprise still exist. Capital allocation still exists. The only thing that changes is the denominator. Stop thinking in fiat morality. Start thinking in Bitcoin accounting. Use Bitcoin as your unit of account.

The problem is that nearly all of his wealth isn't taxable income. You'd just be raising taxes on people who are already paying a shitload in taxes. Doctors for example. Musk's wealth is in stocks and shit, not in an actual salary or anything taxable.

Is Pierre's family living in another country getting rich of his American stocks from his former employer, while acting as the leader of another country, all the while referring to himself as a "European"? I don't think so.
Tokenized stocks could be a bigger deal than most people realize. Global access to traditional assets feels like a natural evolution, and projects like Canborsa are moving in an interesting direction.

Elon building companies doesn't bother me. I am far more upset about members of Congress trading stocks on insider info they obtain based on early knowledge of which companies benefit from legislation that will pass.

I translated it correctly. His frame was incorrect. It was a message to try to get you to buy his stock. Saving money is using money. Putting bitcoin at risk is investing. Saving bitcoin will be more effective at getting more bitcoin than investing in stocks that buy bitcoin.

thats the wrong mindset. The correct mindset is: What stocks can I buy right now and hold for 5 years.

They don't care. They want to tax the wealthy on what stocks and property they own. But in reality if they do that (Tax your net worth) for the wealthy they should do it for everybody. Imagine if everyone had to list their assets and pay a tax on them. House, cars, furnishings, art, jewelry etc. Doesn't seem fair to be able to tax wealth unless it is across the board.
