Cayenne as an agentic ORM 🙂We are going to have a complete new agentic stack in the upcoming 5.0 milestone: a Claude plugin and an MCP for all the DB-to-model-to-Java syncing for you.
Agentic coding unlocked an unexpected superpower in @ApacheCayenne project. None of us are Swing developers (are there any real ones out there still?) So the GUI ORM Modeler that was quietly rotting suddenly got a second life now that we can pass any visual bug over to AI

We just posted 4.0.3 - a maintenance release of the older Cayenne 4.0. It makes that version of CayenneModeler compatible with Java 17. So if you haven't upgraded to 4.1/4.2 yet, you should still be able to work with your models.
Cayenne 4.2 goes beta. So the API is frozen, and should be safe for upgrade. Also addressed an issue with CayenneModeler startup on desktop with Java 17
