My article with Sammy Lagas II on challenges to digital services in Philippine academic libraries is now published on the Philippine Journal of Librarianship and Information Studies (PhJLIS)!

Here’s a fun take on the ‘ghosts’ of web archiving by Alice Austin. It’s a good intro on the different issues that we have to balance when working with content hosted online. 👻

“Remember it isn’t just about the technology”
Great discussion by @Jenny_Mitcham on what to do after setting up or procuring a digital preservation system! I’ve meet so many managers that think a system is a magic cure-all for their institution!
“Digital preservation is achievable… If digital preservation is possible then data loss is a choice.”
Reading through the 2023 Bit List is a chilling as ever. Here’s to continually improving preservation and not making silly choices.
“The preservation of authentic digital materials cannot be taken for granted, and it’s never been more essential.”
The #DPCBitList 2023 is published on #WDPD2023, and calls for more action to preserve at-risk digital materials.

Come meet Finny the goldfish and see how well you can explain digital preservation without using jargon. dpconline.org/blog/wdpd/wdpd…
This is such a great idea! Paul Meredith writes about bringing digitisation to indigenous communities in New Zealand.

Now trying to convince folks to do something similar at small scale for students in our university…

Eagerly refreshing the DPC website for the Bit List launch.
If you haven’t yet had a chance, check out the #WDPD2023 blog posts at dpconline.org/blog/wdpd. It’s fantastic to read about all the different things digital archivists around the world are working on.
“time is always a factor that we would have liked to have more of”
Excellent discussion on collaboration and co-creation on time-based and immersive media by Lieve Baetens at dpconline.org/blog/wdpd/wdpd…#WDPD2023
Following this month’s #DLNETChat with much interest. A lot of my work at the moment involves enforcing compliance to standards and record structures and I wonder what can be done to accommodate neurodiverse ways of working, not just on the part of users but also for staff.
One of the resources I discovered because of #DLNET2023 was digitalyouthindex.uk. Of course it raises more questions about how we can then convince audiences to engage with our platforms but it’s a good starting point for deciding where and how to deliver information.
#DLNET2023 had so many good suggestions my computer did not want the conference to end, it hung and woundn’t allow me to leave! Had to do a hard reset 🤦🏻♀️
Fascinating to hear what folks are doing in terms of delivery, but didn’t expect video game recommendations as a bonus! There goes my spare time. Then again, it’s “learning rather than stabbing”! #DLNET2023
Fantastic insights in Day 1 of #DLNET2023! Really enjoyed the discussion in the breakout rooms, particularly a point made about developing offers that show off something unique to your service/collection/lesson.
Looking forward to having great discussions with the other panellists, see you in 14 hours!
Apologies in advance to everyone if I’m a little unhinged, have not been able to sleep with everything that happened.
14 HOURS TO DO!
In exactly 14 hours DLNET2023 will commence.
This year we have a wonderful selection of panelists who will be talking all things digital learning!
This takes place over Wednesday and Thursday :)

Ceridwen, my most constant companion of 6.5 years, passed away this afternoon from complications of liver disease. She has been my anchor especially during the lockdowns and is already solely missed. 😭
Have you ever asked yourself:
"How can I better design digital learning?"
"Who can I speak to for advice about digital learning?"
"How can I engage better with audiences and learners?"
If so, then DLNET2023 is for you, see: eventbrite.co.uk/e/dlnet-con…
Join us March 15&16
