The Persons with Disabilities Act 2025 is an important step for inclusion, but at 64 pages it can feel overwhelming. That’s why @UDPKenya, with @UraiaTrust, have created a Simplified Guide — turning legal jargon into clear, accessible language. 👉 Scan the QR code to get your free copy and know your rights. #VIP

WHAT TO DO INCASE OF RAPE
5 Mar 2025
PSA : What to do incase of rape. Sexual assault can leave survivors with trauma which can be both physical and emotional. Every survivor has different experiences, but more often than not, most rape survivors may be in too much shock to act, immediately after the rape

”Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:4-6. A year later, we remember and honour our fallen heroes — young Kenyans who left home that day simply to stand for what’s right. Back then and even on this anniversary day, so many breathed their last breath In tears - right there on the tarmac, in the arms of their comrades - as they drifted away. And so many were abducted and still have never made it back home until today. One thing about this generation though? We are underestimated, but we are not unaware. We are kind, but we are not soft. We have strength in numbers, and we are strength under control. Every 25th June, this generation will continue speaking and continue showing up. For them. For us. For the future. Rest easy, comrades. #VIP.

Women facing the intersecting oppressions of bad governance, police brutality, and subjugation through sexual assault are characteristic of a dysfunctional, falling country. This should not be the price to pay for our freedom!

They will try to mock you, belittle your efforts, and call your protests pointless but remember this: it took a decade of sustained resistance before Kenya broke free from Moi’s grip. Before you despair, look at history. It will tell you change has never been immediate. #June25th

STATEMENT: The @CA_Kenya has directed Kenyan media to halt live protest broadcasts and hinted at an internet shutdown. This is an illegal, dangerous attack on press freedom, public safety, and the right to information. We demand the immediate withdrawal of this unconstitutional directive. #hotoffthebar Katiba Institute has filed a petition challenging the unlawful barricading of Nairobi CBD. We are not a police state! A government should not fear its citizens 😊
PRESS RELEASE: Katiba Institute files a Petition over unlawful barricading of Nairobi CBD and Violation of Constitutional Rights Katiba Institute has today filed a constitutional petition at the High Court of Kenya in Nairobi challenging the unlawful actions of the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney-General for violating Kenyans’ constitutional rights to peaceful assembly and movement. This urgent petition arises from the police’s decision today to barricade roads leading into and within Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) using barbed wire and police blockades. These actions, undertaken without notice, aim to prevent people from exercising their rights to demonstrate and picket as enshrined in Articles 37 and 39 of the Constitution.
