And the deal is signed!
Today, the EP and the Council officially signed the Energy Efficiency Directive that I have been negotiating.
The directive binds the EU to yearly energy savings of around 100 million tonnes of oil equivalents in 2030. Good day for the climate !

☹️As it is often the case, the Council has put the brakes on ambition and good delivery.
