Play to earn is thriving on steam with no Blockchain.
All it took was a game that allowed items to be traded.
6 years here and we couldn't get a game to do that properly other than Axie.
We had the advantage and we still SLIGHTLY do.
- We can actually send the $ to our banks instead of steam credits.
- we can take loans against digital items, in steam you can't.
-devs can set better marketplace fees
- easier to get in any marketplace, no questions asked
This advantage won't last too long, eventually a web2 platform like steam will win without blockchain.
We either start delivering cool games that gamers want to play with skin or full item economies or we lose.
We are not early anymore. Web3 is not inevitable.
If you look back in history, many technologies didn't win the race of global adoption even though they were better.
Lets not be the tech that could've been awesome.
We need to get back to basics in on-chain games.
We started in 2018 with digital collectibles and that is what we should be focusing on. Some games with skins only and some with a fully itemized economy.
This is a steam game, eventually they will eat our meal if we don't focus 👇
Blockchain is not inevitable.
