The Sound of Christmas, Fijian Style.
Our Fijian Choir once again stole the show at our annual Christmas Church Service, filling the chapel with a harmony that stops you in your tracks. Their voices carry tradition, pride and the spirit of the Regiment in every note.
A special moment for everyone present — and another reminder of the incredible talent within our Welsh Guards family.

15 December 1917:
More praise for Fr Willie from Major General Hickie
"I could not say too much about your son. He was loved and reverenced by us all; his gallantry, self-sacrifice, and devotion to duty were all so well known and recognised. I think that he was the most wonderful character that I have ever known."

Message reads: Here in West Asia, we are working hard to make the Christmas period as festive as possible while continuing to meet our operational commitments. Several carol services are planned in various locations within the UN area, reflecting the strong interest in these traditions. In addition, there will be an enhanced Christmas meal, with senior staff taking on all duties and serving the meal to create a special atmosphere. While many service personnel will be on ‘Rest and Recuperation’, a significant number will remain here. Supporting those who are away from loved ones will be a key focus alongside the formal activities. Together, we aim to ensure that everyone feels connected and to create some festive cheer for all. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Message reads: On the first day of Christmas...One box for collecting Christmas gifts. Our personnel know what it’s like to be away from family and friends, even a two-year posting can be difficult, so they’re always generous givers to our local charity that provides Christmas presents to refugee children. Two Op Sites. I will be visiting soldiers who are on Guard Duties over Christmas, taking a little chaplaincy joy and checking that everyone is okay. Three Christmas Services. It’s so important to bring the Garrison Community together; this year it’s carols and Midnight Mass by candlelight, as well as our Family Service on Christmas Day. May God’s peace rest upon you this Christmas tide. Padre Adéle.
