NGO monitoring and evaluation should reveal where change is happening, how it is happening and to what degree. Without quality, timely data to inform decision-making, monitoring processes can easily turn into clerical tasks performed for complianceās sake.

Data collection on poverty is oftentimes measured at the household level, which doesn't show differences in poverty between household members. This leads to continuous #datagaps on poverty, especially in gender.

Monitoring is the process of collecting information about a project while itās happening. Evaluation is the process of determining whether the project achieved its goals performed after the project is finished. #globaldev
