Got invited to a collab that I thought went very well. The next day, someone from the collab with whom I had very few previous interactions sent me a long dm expressing how uncomfortable I made them feel, left a mutual server we were in, and refused to interact with me ever again.
I've been super mindful of my behavior within collabs ever since, but to this day still never received a response to my apology. Perhaps I did make them feel that way and just didn't realize it because it was genuinely my first official collab in the space, but I can't say I've ever experienced an interaction like that ever again, and I've been extremely cautious with whom I choose to collab with, generally with people I've already had good off-stream chemistry.
This interaction among other conflicts related to this specific collab basically discouraged me from trying to interact with anyone that isn't part of my close circles, and it's part of the reason why I'm as private of a person as I am now.
Do you guys have any bad collab experiences?
My worst one was a couple years ago with a VTuber. We were supposed to play Valorant together, but something came up on their end. They canceled less than an hour before we were scheduled to go live. I get that emergencies happen, so I reached out to reschedule… and got completely ghosted. A short while later, they even unfollowed me.
We had similar-sized audiences, so it wasn’t like I was a nobody to them. I was just left hanging with nothing. I hope they were okay, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

Basically what I've realized from earlier experiences is that if you get invited to a collab with people who aren't already your close friends, be careful. Not everyone in the Vtuber community is looking to make close friends with your or maintain some form of long-term connection. Some collabs are simply business or a means to introduce you to a space that may not be for you.

Never seen a community shift so drastically from celebrating diverse unique oddball character designs to being okay with new female characters being reduced to pretty petite faced heroes with guns...let's be serious the most unique female hero we've received since OW2 season 10 was a flying cat, and don't get me started on how they keep making Ana YOUNG in every new skin including her recent plushie keychain.
This isn't a discussion about whether or not it's okay for conventionally attractive female characters should exist btw. This is a critique about how we're enabling gaming corporations to profit from safe "attractive" designs that are easy to appease a playerbase that no longer cares about originality.
