Hearing that people who were part of the Abandon Harris campaign and who founded Muslims for Trump are now "disappointed" that Trump is nominating people who don't care about Gaza and are pro-"Israel can do whatever it wants" is enraging. Instead of doing any research or even simply paying attention, you were so mad that Harris wouldn't give you a personal sit down or let your protests interrupt her rallies that you created a fiction where Trump would be better for Palestinians than Harris. And because of your fiction, Gaza, Ukraine, the United States, and the entire world is at risk. Elections aren't a game where you get to flip the table in anger and go back to living your life. They're serious, with significant consequences, and there is no undoing of what you've done. If you are someone who has migrant friends or family, who cares about Gaza, who cares about the economy, reproductive rights, education, infrastructure, livable wages, or our democratic foundations, and you voted for Trump, you royally screwed up, and this is only the beginning of what is to come.

This pathetic statement could have been made in 2014 or 2022 or any point in between. Putin started this war because he saw it in his interest. He won't end it until it's not in his interest. That means when Ukraine is winning, when Russia is collapsing, threatening his power.

I can only speak for myself, of course, but I haven’t watched any news since election night, and it’s nothing to do with any particular network or outlet. I’m just exhausted and need to rest my mind a bit. I read some news so I don’t get totally behind. I’m sure I’m not alone.

The ability of demagogues & autocrats to surprise, to create a new scandal every day, is their superpower. It diminishes attention to the previous day's transgressions & normalizes them. It slowly numbs the senses, including outrage. Values are the only defense. Hold them dear.
