The last things Roman will "see" on Earth are the faces of some of the countless people who created it. ✨ The observatory’s primary mirror has passed its last inspection as it nears its final days @NASAGoddard before heading down to @NASAKennedy. go.nasa.gov/4uB91BF

New data from @NASAWebb shows that supermassive black holes can grow to their current size without a much larger host galaxy to feed them. This helps to explain why some black holes in the early universe got so big so quickly. go.nasa.gov/4vhU5bt

This is a photo of the solar chromosphere, captured using a 6" telescope I modified to safely handle the intense heat from focusing the sun's powerful radiation By isolating the bandpass, vivid atmospheric structure starts to emerge That structure on the limb is 4 Earths tall!

Incredible. Awesome. Glorious. Hard to put into words how I felt while I was first going through theses shots brought back by Artemis II’s @astro_reid Since the images were so high fidelity, I was able to push the color to reveal details of the far side I’ve never seen before

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

I am proud of the NASA team, and we will never stop elevating our game. SpaceX mission streaming is top notch. They have had a few hundred launch opportunities to dial it in. As we improve our launch cadence - I promise we will improve the streaming coverage along with it. In the interim, Artemis II is headed to the Moon.

Spent the day at Goddard Space Flight Center as the first stop on my roadshow across NASA’s centers. I’m not visiting for photo ops or VIP tours, but to get out where the action is and talk directly with the workforce, the industry partners and congressional delegations. There’s no question there is real work to do across all of our centers, and Goddard is no exception. We carry dated, and in some cases, unsafe infrastructure on our books, along with programs that are not always aligned with our most pressing objectives. We can do better by listening to and empowering the best and brightest to work the problems and pursue the opportunities with urgency. In that spirit, I enjoyed all the conversations at GSFC, including the tough questions, and seeing the flight hardware up close. I want to pass along my appreciation to the entire team, including those contributing to the exciting Dragonfly mission and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is on track to launch on budget and ahead of schedule. Missions like these truly help us pursue the secrets of the universe. If we ensure our resources are focused on the real needle-moving objectives, I am highly confident we can launch even more grand missions of science and discovery in the years ahead.
