Did you know that @NASA and Katalyst Space built a satellite in under a year that's going to get dropped from an airplane before a rocket sends it to space to rescue a telescope that's spiraling out of orbit while "No Time for Caution" plays?

The people are safe. Pads can be rebuilt, boosters can be remade. @BlueOrigin stout hearts and clear eyes. There's a lot of launches left to build the future.

We started designing the first vehicle in July. I'm so proud of what this team has done. Satellite 2 soon and more on the way!
We’ve completed build on our 1st satellite and have a 2nd and 3rd on the way! Every component has been talked to. Once in space it will deploy a reflector as wide as a basketball court. The goal of the Eärendil program is to deliver full moon brightness to 6,000 acres.

Any of my reindustrialization friends with a sheet metal factory want to help onshore printer manufacturing?
Right now CORE Ones we make in USA have already locally sourced packaging, fasteners and printed parts. Next in line is sheet metal but currently the best offer we got is 2,5x the cost we have in Europe. Happy to get tips for east coast suppliers but we can have larger radius as we have train dock in the factory. But both EU and USA machines are already TAA Compliant. If anyone wants to take a look and help us build the supply chain for fully made in USA printer full cad is here printables.com/model/1520471…

Student rocketry is the strongest forcing function for building the future!
We just partnered with the Musk Foundation to give out $175k in grants to advance the frontier of collegiate rocketry. This is in addition to the $390k we’re already giving out to collegiate teams building propulsive self-landing rockets. When we first started, people laughed and told us what we were attempting would be impossible. 2 years later, several student teams have achieved both TVC and throttled hotfire with liquid engines, and they are making fast progress on their hoppers. We’re already seeing hover attempts at a collegiate level! These kids are doing this on 0.001% of a typical rocket budget, dedicating 80 hour weeks without any pay to build some of the most capable rockets outside of industry. The reason why so many people fall in love with space and rocketry is because it is proof that humanity is capable of the impossible. We want to continue to advance that mission. Back to work.

Long before the world had Barbenheimer, you could watch The Dark Night and follow it up with Keira Knightley's Pride and Prejudice and I think that's pretty cool.

The United States started work on an in-space servicing mission in 2016, spent ~$2B and cancelled it after 8 years of work, at which point it was still years away from launching. China flew an orbital servicing payload (Yuxing 3-06). We need a better way.

You have to be very careful to choose your optimization metrics well. "Reusability" as a technology is fantastic because it let's us put more payload in orbit. Optimizing for "minimum engines thrown away" or "common design" is bad if it hurts the ability to operate.
Starship is on Raptor 3 and still no where close to mission ready. Since 1981, a total of 46 RS-25s were used for the 135 Shuttle launches and what is coming up on the 2nd Artemis flight. Starship threw away more than that in only 2 flights.

What a fantastic AstroAwards! Great to see friends, talk rockets, show off @reflectorbital, secure the thinnest of victories in space trivia, and enjoy my favorite DJ set! Huge thanks to @FireflySpace for hosting us for one heck of a static fire!
