เห็นคนถามเรื่อง Copayment ด้วยความกังวลเป็นจำนวนมาก และได้ยินมาว่ามีตัวแทนประกันหลายคนใช้เรื่องนี้ขู่ให้คนกังวล และรีบทำประกันสุขภาพในช่วงนี้เพื่อจะได้ไม่เข้าเงื่อนไข Copayment บอกตรงๆ เห็นแล้วหงุดหงิดใจมาก ตัวแทนที่เอาแต่ได้พวกนี้เขาไม่ควรไปทำประกันกับเขาเลยนะ ต้องทำความเข้าใจก่อนว่า Copayment ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อปรับนิสัยการเคลมของผู้เอาประกัน ที่บางคนก็เคลมพร่ำเพรื่อ เจ็บป่วยเล็กน้อย เคลมหมด ประกอบกับเงินเฟ้อค่ารักษาพยาบาลมันสูง ถ้าเอะอะก็เคลมแบบนี้ บริษัทประกันก็อาจจะรับประกันสุขภาพไม่ไหว แล้วผลเสียก็จะอยู่กับผู้บริโภค ดังนั้น เพื่อไม่ให้เบี้ยประกันสูงจนเกินไป แต่บริษัทประกันก็ยังอยู่ได้ มันก็ต้องมีการจำกัดการเคลมบ้าง นั่นก็คือที่มาของ Copayment ถ้าอ่านอินโฟกราฟิกนี้โดยละเอียด จะเห็นว่ากรณีที่จะเข้าเงื่อนไขต้อง Copayment คือ • มีการเคลมเกินกำหนด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเจ็บป่วยเล็กน้อย (ที่ปกติควรจะกินยาแล้วพักอยู่บ้านหายเองได้) หรือเจ็บป่วยทั่วไป ซึ่งเขาก็จะให้สิทธิ์ในการเคลมได้ 3 ครั้ง หรืออัตราการเคลมไม่เกิน 200% หรือ 400% ของเบี้ยประกันสุขภาพ ส่วนโรคร้ายแรงหรือผ่าตัดใหญ่ไม่นับ ซึ่งก็เป็นวัตถุประสงค์ของการทำประกันสุขภาพอยู่แล้ว คือการโอนย้ายความเสี่ยง ซึ่งพวกโรคร้ายแรงหรือผ่าตัดใหญ่ โอกาสเกิดมันน้อย แต่ค่ารักษามันแพง อันนี้แหละที่การทำประกันสุขภาพมันจะเข้ามาทำความเสี่ยงแห่งเรา • ระยะเวลาในการพิจารณาว่าจะเข้าเงื่อนไขที่จะต้อง Copayment ไหม คือ แต่ละปีกรมธรรม์ แยกกัน ปีใครปีมัน และหากเข้าเงื่อนไข ก็จะต้อง Copay ในปีถัดไป และถ้าปีถัดไปเราไม่มีการเคลมเกินกำหนด เราก็หลุดจากเงื่อนไข Copay ในปีกรมธรรม์ถัดไป ฉะนั้น สำหรับคนทั่วไป ที่ไม่ได้มีการเคลมอะไรพร่ำเพรื่อ ก็ไม่ต้องห่วงว่ามันจะเป็นประกันสุขภาพในเงื่อนไขเดิม หรือเงื่อนไข Copay เลยครับ
