If you make a kick drum shorter, the low end will have less impact and the kick drum will be heard as having less bottom end. You can shorten a kick or bass sound to clean up bass heavy mix or increase the legth to have a more powerful mix.

Mixing Tip Of The Day - Play around with compression and reverb to move sounds across the audio spectrum. More reverb will pull sounds further away and put them behind the mix, where as less reverb and more compression with put sounds right in front. #mixingtips #musicproducer
