ALT Before a Freeze: A Little Prep goes a long way Know how to shut off your water and keep the valve accessible Cover outdoor faucets, remove hoses and drain sprinkler systems Insulate exposed pipes in garages, attics or unheated spaces
ALT During a Freeze: Open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air circulate If needed, drip one cold-water faucet- a small and slow drip Collect the water for later use
ALT Power Outages Matter For Power Outages over 24 hours: • Stop dripping faucets and turn water off at the meter • This helps reduce the risk of leaks when pipes thaw
ALT After a Freeze Check faucets - if no water flows, a pipe may be frozen Thaw pipes slowly using warm air or towels, and turn on working faucets to help Never use an open flame
