Grateful to see our latest article out in Marine Mammal Science. It raises some important questions about over-reliance on 'snapshot' surveys performed at basin-wide levels and highlights why more regular, nationwide studies could provide better estimates: doi.org/10.1111/mms.70140
Our new study is out Producing Local Common Bottlenose Dolphin Abundance Estimates to Fill Species Knowledge Gaps in the Eastern Mediterranean Surrounding Türkiye Aylin Akkaya, Tim Awbery,Ceyda Ozdemir,Leyla Israpilova, Suzanne Kamsteeg, Atakan Dalkılıç onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Great to see more publications from Ekaterina Kalashnikova, Davis Orio and Aylin Akkaya coming out on the marine mammals of southern Tanzania. The multi-year study is discovering lots of cool new things about an important, understudied area for cetaceans: tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1…

Was great to be back at @UKIRSC_SMM as a participant rather than an organiser and great to see the new committee smashing it! 🐳 Really honoured to have been voted as the winner of the long-talk - look closely for some amazing photoshop work 😂📸✂️ #workofart @marinemammalogy
