A checkout transaction lasts one or two seconds. If item-verification has to round-trip to a cloud GPU and back, the moment is gone before the answer arrives. This excellent case study by @WGTech and @Ultralytics demonstrates 28% fewer safety violations, which sounds like an AI accuracy story. It more than that, though. The model isn't catching MORE incidents. It's preventing them. Which means workers are changing behaviour, and that's a feedback loop story rather a detection story.
