Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions. But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken

The science on wealth taxes is settled. People opposing it are either protecting their own wealth or letting ideology override evidence. Here is what the research actually says. 🧵👇

I've just been chatting with Nick Cullinan, the excellent new director of the British Museum, and I'm very relieved to say that the story put by the Daily Telegraph about the BM cancelling the name Palestine is a complete misrepresentation of the facts: "To reassure you we are not removing mention from Palestine from our labels," Nick told me. "Indeed, we have a display on at the moment about Palestine and Gaza. "I know this is something our curators have thought long and hard about - as you can imagine. We amended two panels in our ancient Levant gallery last year during a regular gallery refresh, when some wording was amended to reflect historical terms. "To be honest, the even more frustrating and concerning thing is that I knew nothing about this until yesterday and has only been explained to me this morning. I hadn’t even seen that [UK Lawyers for Israel] letter despite asking for it until this morning. I’m disgusted by the whole thing." The question remains why the Daily Telegraph would put out such a mischief-making story without first fact checking it with the Directors office.

Whistleblowers told The Electronic Intifada that the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) scrapped its annual Impunity Index because Israel was set to rank number one. The index—published annually since 2008 and regularly referenced in UN reports—measures countries where journalists are deliberately killed and killers go unpunished. The 2024 edition, covering killings through 2023, ranked Israel second. The 2025 index, reflecting 2024 amid record killings of Palestinian journalists in Gaza, would have pushed Israel to the top of the list. Since the index is calculated as a 10-year rolling rate relative to population, Israel would Israel would have been ranked near the top, if not number one, for many years to come, the whistleblowers said. They allege donor and board pressure played a role. In response to Electronic Intifada, CPJ denied that donor considerations play any role in its decisions with respect to Israel or any other country.
🚨My latest: After murdering so many journalists, Israel would top @pressfreedom's "Impunity Index" for years to come. The solution? Scrap the ranking altogether. At least that's what staffers say CEO @jodieginsberg did to solve an embarrassing problem electronicintifada.net/blogs…

Human bones scattered in the streets. Something US diplomats described in an effort to get the attention of bosses. It was suppressed by Biden admin.
⚠️ Reuters has now confirmed what many suspected. In early 2024, U.S. diplomats blocked internal cables describing northern Gaza as an “Apocalyptic Wasteland.” The reports included harrowing details: human bones scattered in the streets, bodies left abandoned in cars, & a total collapse of access to food, clean water, and medical aid. These cables were not speculation. They were based on first-hand field observations from U.N. agencies & humanitarian workers on the ground. So why were they blocked? Because they were considered “too graphic.” Because they “lacked balance.” Because they might make Israel look bad. Senior officials at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, including Ambassador Jack Lew & Deputy Chief Stephanie Hallett, stopped the reports from reaching higher levels of the U.S. government. They feared the cables would contradict the administration’s public narrative & disrupt ongoing political cover for Israel’s actions in Gaza. According to former officials, humanitarian experts were sidelined, ignored, & outright dismissed. Inside meetings, the question from officials was not how to respond to starvation, but reportedly, “Where are all the skinny kids?” This was not merely policy misjudgment, but complicity on a grand scale. The Biden administration had access to concrete evidence of mass death, starvation, & social collapse. Instead of sounding the alarm, it chose to suppress the truth to preserve its political position. They did not just ignore the warnings. They buried them. Let that sink in. Another day, another hearing, another appeal but still the same old outcome; a loss for FSV Mainz 05. Regular defeats on the football pitch clearly aren’t enough for the board of the club so they keep coming back for more losses in the German courts ! I am grateful to the German courts for serving justice and seeing through the baseless and nonsensical claims of the club. Let me be clear, the statement from the serial losers FSV Mainz 05 following their latest defeat is as deluded as their entire dealings and proceedings against me. I have never had, nor will I ever have, any consensus with any person or organisation which seeks to silence those standing for justice and humanity. My values can never align with any organisation whose values and convictions are to blindly stand with those accused of flagrantly breaching International law and perpetrating genocide. No one is above the law. Let this latest victory send a loud and clear to message to the warmongers, their accomplices and the deluded board members of FSV Mainz 05; you cannot, and will not, silence the voices of the Palestinians and their advocates. Viva Palestina !!!

In Britain, we believe in freedom of religion, and freedom of worship. The Carnegie Library in Abergavenny is grade ii listed and has been empty for a decade. Muslims are currently meeting in the parish hall of the local Roman Catholic church, and would like their own place. The council has democratically agreed a 30-year lease, with building repairs to be carried out by the local Muslim community. If you don't want your library turned into a mosque, go there and read. If you don't want your church turned into a mosque, go there and worship. But to do neither, and then complain about a perfectly reasonable, democratic and provisional change of use for a listed building which satisfies a community need, bringing life where there is currently a void, is rather small-minded.
🚨ANOTHER BRITISH TREASURE LOST TO ISLAM The beautiful Carnegie Library in Abergavenny has been given the go ahead to be turned into a Mosque This is a disgrace 😡 Another Labour run council surrendering our country to Islam
