The entire Malibu shoreline was filled with these jelly like creatures called Velella that sort of resemble Portuguese man o’ war but are not harmful. Never seen so many of these in one place.

Friday's calf needs a name and we're giving away 10 lbs of pasture-raised ground beef from AcmeAcres.us to whoever comes up with the best one. He's a boy. Grey, almost purple. Built like his Charolais dad, colored like neither of his parents. Stops you in your tracks. Drop your name suggestion in the comments. To be entered in the giveaway, head to AcmeAcres.us and sign up through the popup — then come back and leave your suggestion. Tomorrow we'll put the top picks to a vote. Winner gets the beef. Give me a call or text if you have any questions. Your rancher, Jason Hanley | 208-714-0478 @beefinitiative

Street vending blocks handicap access to sidewalks, break every healthcode, pay little in taxes and cook with propane tanks next to cardboard and bust streets.
🚨BREAKING: Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles have launched a taxpayer-funded program to provide FREE food carts to sidewalk vendors. Since some can’t afford food carts, LA County is making hardworking taxpayers spend nearly $3 million on 280 food carts to give away to new street vendors.

For Bee Removal Call Eli (626) 487-6052 I removed a struggling bee colony from a jacuzzi storage compartment in Chino Hills, California after rain soaked the hive and caused the comb to collapse. Wet honeycomb made the removal messy, but I cleaned out the space and relocated the bees so the colony could recover. #SaveTheBees

Strange chicken going ons. One of my hens identifies as a rooster jumping the ladies. One has a Trump Comb and mumbles something about taking over the coops of this world. I caught something about EggStein files and there seems to be an increase of poop b o m b s.

We’re so excited to be rising as an American farm and business. When we release the Cottage Line this year - it’ll be a game changer. This has taken three years to build and it’s finally growing into something really special. Every order helps us grow - every positive review helps us build trust with others - thank you each and thanks for cheering us and others working to do the same on!

Duck River, Tennessee — This is the future intake location for the Duck River Pipeline set to draw 32 million gallons per day out of the fragile Duck River, heralded as North America’s most biodiverse river. Residents in the Duck River Basin are pushing back on the land and water grab by the City of Columbia, TN that is part of a $520 Million project to be financed by the ratepayers with rate increases for drinking water set to go into effect today, March 1, 2026. #TheGreatWaterHeist DefendTheDuck.Org 🇺🇸 🎼 : the marshall tucker band

For Bee Removal Call Eli (626) 487-6052 Rancho Cucamonga – Victoria Gardens 🐝 I removed a packed beehive from a water meter box. Fresh brood, tons of larva, and bags of honey deep in the cavity. Carefully relocated the brood into a box and the bees immediately started clustering onto it. Back in 5–10 days to finish the job. #savethebees

I thought I knew everything about my American heritage. I knew my paternal grandmother was a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), but not the details. I just found out that the ancestor was Franz Christian Hootman. When he was 16 he was kidnapped by the Prince of Hess and sold to King George the third of England to fight the colonists of America. His father was a wealthy man and could have rescued his son but didn't. One rumor is that it was over a "dispute regarding a girl." Christian initially refused to join the troops and was given thirty lashes for three consecutive days. He finally consented to join up, but not before telling his father, "I'll go, but I will never fire a gun against the Americans and I will never return to the Fatherland. On December 25, 1776 he was struck by a gun carriage and suffered a fractured leg. During the early morning, General Washington and his Continentals crossed the Delaware and captured Christian. The Americans treated him so well that he decided to reenlist after three months but will the Virginian regiment where he was a drummer boy until the end of the war. He received 600 acres in the headwaters of Buffalo Creek, West Virginia for services in the Revolutionary War, Virginia Regiment. Some of his descendants moved to Ashland, Ohio, where my grandmother was born. I've seen this picture of George Washington crossing the Delaware many times. Never did I imagine that an ancestor played a small role in this turning point in American history.

If you live in Southern California and you can foster or adopt, please fill out an app. The only way we can keep saving abused and neglected dogs is with homes! Like sweet one-eyed Arthur who was rescued from Skid Row. He lost his eye on Skid Row. startswithonetoday.com/anima…

From raising a family and working the everyday life of ranchers to all of a sudden facing 10 years in prison and $250,000 fines EACH, Charles and Heather Maude have been put through the ringer for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG. The ranch has been in the Maude family since the early 1900’s and in March of 2024, they received an anonymous complaint stating that one of their fence lines were in Buffalo Gap National Grasslands and that they stole land. This is a story of rampant corruption and government overreach, something Americans but especially farmers and ranchers are constantly battling with their land being taken from them. The Maudes did not back down and the charges were eventually dropped in 2025 but it took a heroic effort, eventually making way to Secretary of Ag Brooke Rollins and President Donald Trump. Now imagine if this happened to this incredible family, what else is going on and has been going on? This family is a major inspiration to me, with the refusal to back down, fighting for what is right and what they believe in, all why trying to continue raising a family and figuring out finances of everything.

Forces in modern world want to saturate your life with consumer driven trends and focuses to pull dollars out of your pocket. Little pigs and their mothers show the opposite - cozy up, go to sleep, be warm and be alive. It’s not ironic - yes we sell from our farm but the ideal is one day these animals make it into your community and the supply chain becomes smaller and smaller and smaller.

Without rugged individualism, there is no art. No poetry. No cultivation of God-given talent and genius. The “warmth of collectivism” is the putrid heat that emanates from the talentless and the resentful as they pull everyone down with them. No thanks!

The sight of cattle running to fresh pasture is nearly surreal. Happens too for sheep and other ruminants. The natural excitement they display before promptly beginning to devour the forage is just simple and humbling. What a beautiful world!
Here come the cows! 🐄🐄

friends, we are growing rapidly, but we are not yet big enough to be able to add the land we need to support a full regenerative buildout. So, we need your help. Of course, if you want to buy pork, that's great, but please SHARE our story, our X, and our farm! We love what we do, and people love it when they hear about it. The more that follow us here on X, join our email list, or buy our pork, the more we can add regenerative land, new animals, etc. Thanks for following along here!

Farmers should be politically involved as much as possible. Our livelihoods depend on it though it sucks. So many things disguised as "for farmers & ranchers" are just for Big Ag, making our lives harder. We pay attention to legislation. Know a few legislators. Know our DA. Know our Sherrifs. Know a few people at TXHHS. I rather be with my cows, my head in my work, but sadly our political state doesn't allow for that. 🐄✨️
Being aggressive is the right approach.

Nerd alert! Wrote another fun post🤓🤣 This one is about rosehips.. which can also be spelled rose hips. Supposedly all one word is what’s used most often, but I think it’s really about 50/50. To learn about rosehips, check out the link below⬇️
