For the 1st time, Anthropic has *more* engineering jobs than OpenAI. The # of engineering jobs in Anthropic has tripled from the same period last yr (~flat for OpenAI). At the same time, OpenAI's engineering mix is shrinking (28% of jobs) while Anthropic's is growing (38%)

OpenAI isn't just losing ground to Gemini - it's losing developers to Claude, and *fast*. Since January, Claude Code installs are up 33% in Visual Studio, while OpenAI Codex is down 10%. Another code red for OpenAI?

$AMZN laid off 30K workers. They claim it's due to AI. But is that the entire story? I dug into every job posting from $AMAZN since 2020, and the % of jobs that were located in off-shored countries almost tripled since 2020 (going from 10% to almost 30%)

Lastly, although probably the weakest stat: the number of press releases that mention AI in the headline is more than 2x the volume at this point last year (according to BuzzSumo). Conclusion? The hype around AI is nowhere close to stopping anytime. (4/4)

What are the "picks and shovels" of the AI boom? It ain't AI models, or frameworks, but boring workflow automation tools like Zapier and N8N. Mentions of Zapier in job postings have exploded 97% from a year ago, as companies are increasingly integrating AI into their workflows

Hiring among unicorn startups has been mired in a long 2 year slump, and isn't showing any signs of improving. Will M&A save the day? Unlikely, as jobs that mention 'corporate development' are down 25% from a year ago too
