LITERACY! LITERACY! LITERACY! Ms. Kozimor is hosting “Book Tasting” today in the Hawk Nest. Her Ss get 5 minutes per rotation to review a book and take notes while getting to enjoy snacks. On Monday, each student will get to pick their favorite book to take with them to read!

Sure wish I was an 8th grader in @MrsKozimorFCPS ‘s ELA classes today! Tables are set with “menus”, snacks and various books to “taste”. They’ll then select one as their novel of choice for the unit. Kids are excited and engaged! #UMSHawks

Concept mapping is a task that requires the granular understanding that we want to see when unpacking prior knowledge! I also love that this is a no-tech example of retrieval practice that meets students at various levels of current proficiency. 💪🏼🧠🙌🏽♥️
