Last month, we hosted our free Breakfast Workshop in Vancouver with Dr. Shahana Alibhai. The session opened up an important conversation about physical pain in construction, how often it is normalized, and why pushing through discomfort can create long-term risks for both safety and well-being. Thank you to Dr. Shahana for sharing such a practical and compassionate perspective, and to everyone who joined us for breakfast and this important discussion. We’re continuing the conversation next week in Prince George with another FREE Breakfast Workshop. We hope to see you there! Learn more and register: bit.ly/4dyfIyS

Real Support, Real Results: The PSRN Program for Workplace Recovery The Peer Support Recovery Navigator (PSRN) program is an industry-led initiative designed to cultivate recovery-ready workplaces, particularly in the construction sector. It focuses on training on-site peers to provide confidential, practical, and immediate support to colleagues facing recovery challenges. The program emphasizes building trust, offering a cost-free one-day training, followed by four online meetings. Graduates become visible, trusted resources who facilitate open conversations and advocate for the genuine implementation of recovery-supportive policies. The overarching goal is to move beyond written policies to establish tangible support and collective action, fostering a healthier and more resilient workforce that prioritizes well-being. bit.ly/4uogdAc

WorkSafeBC Update: Interpretation of misrepresentation for classification changes Classification change policy in the Assessment Manual lists the possible reasons for changing a firm’s classification. Under this policy, a firm’s failure to provide timely, complete, and accurate information to WorkSafeBC, and to respond promptly to information requests or information provided by WorkSafeBC (the positive duties), is addressed under the heading of fraud or misrepresentation. This creates confusion when the contravention is inadvertent. Learn More: bit.ly/4vC9ELv
