Kudos to @BPDPCGross and @marty_walsh for taking time to honor police officers who died by suicide. Said Commish Gross, “This job takes a tremendous toll on our officers both physically and mentally. Now, more than ever before, we need to support them and appreciate them.”

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. This past week @BPDPCGross and @marty_walsh unveiled a memorial dedicated to #BPD officers who died by suicide. Sadly, officers are at a higher risk of suicide than most other professions due to the tremendous stress and strain of the job.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, we all must remember to take steps to raise awareness about suicide and recommit ourselves to helping others who are struggling with mental health. Now more than ever, it’s important for us to check in on others & reach out for help if you need it

.@BPDPCGross speaking about #GeorgeFloyd, who died in #Minneapolis police custody, says, “We condemn those actions of those officers. That’s not how we police.” Says that act has set policing back years.
