I am honoured to be our mayoral candidate. I relish the chance to make the case for a positive ‘can-do’ mayoralty that ensures the good life is available to more people, more easily. More Homes, better transport, increased investment, and thriving towns and villages. I’m ambitious for what we can achieve.

Oliver Wright’s article in @thetimes today is damning for Rachel Reeves It’s been clear for a long time time that she had no economic strategy. To that we can now add negligence on national security The bigger issue is that many Labour MPs agree with her. They’re not willing to get serious about the choices needed

This is wrong. It doesn't matter who you vote for, but Kemi Badenoch expressly stated that ALL lives matter and it shouldn't be about someone's race. This sort of "attack ad" isn't about facing up to important issues, it's just a lie.
Kemi Badenoch, just like Starmer, doesn’t care. Only Reform UK will openly say that white lives matter too.
Community note
The exact words were; "I don’t want to hear about Black Lives Matter. I don’t want to hear about White Lives Matter. Everyone matters. Henry Nowak matters." x.com/GMB/status/206…

In responding to this appalling case, Kemi Badenoch showed compassion, moral clarity, and proper concern for the common good. That’s what we need.

Kemi is right to make this call I gave up my board-level career at the end of last year to run for Mayor. I don’t regret it. Public service is a lot of fun. I’ve found so many @Conservatives to be encouraging & generous with their ideas & time. Get involved!
A powerful and clinical call to arms from @KemiBadenoch for a new generation of Conservative candidates. "We need candidates with the five Cs: they must be clever, have charisma, communication skills, conviction and, most importantly, be Conservative." telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/05…

Lost for words. Never thought I’d see a British govt trying to set food prices. If there is one highly competitive sector it is food retailing. Do we really want to live in a country where the state sets these prices? thetimes.com/article/3ec704f…

Cretinous. How about: - Cutting NI - Reducing the price of energy - Reverse the increase in business rates - lowering the cost of capital through controlling public spending

I am not sure how we fell so out of love with the value of prices - they send the purist of all allocative signals. The value in high prices is the supply side signals they send to expand production. If you are capping prices you are basically admitting your supply side agenda is utterly broken.

I love retail. We’re so fortunate to have such an innovative and dynamic retail industry. The lengths this government have gone to in order to make the job of the industry harder is mind boggling. As is the absence of a grasp of basic economics in the government…..

Today’s figures confirm Labour is continuing its depressing tradition of leaving office with more people out of work. Especially concerning that 15% of 18-24 year olds are unemployed. This is a policy choice, & a consequence of hammering retail & hospitality which are key routes into work for young people.

It’s #nationalpubday and a chance to celebrate the wonderful pubs across Cheshire. Pubs are at the heart of communities across the county. They’re under huge pressure and so, if possible, pop down the pub this weekend.

For more than 10 years I’ve been involved in improving early years literacy. It’s one of my passions. I was delighted to be part of the @Literacy_Trust annual celebration of the businesses who work with them to improve literacy across the country, alongside the wonderful Adele Parks Businesses are key partners for any charity. Thanks to the many businesses who step up to be part of their communities 👏

🍸Today is World Cocktail Day…. I know there has been some debate recently about whether politics and alcohol should mix. I am firmly pro-enjoyment! Here’s a summer favourite: a delicious Porto Tonico. Enjoy!

The idea of a supermarket price cap is absurd. We benefit from the most competitive & innovative grocery market in the world. Price competition is fierce & many items are sold below cost. Supermarket margins are tiny: 2-3%. Government should focus on getting income per capita up, & let competition set the price.
FM says he will invite all party leaders except Reform in to St Andrews House for talks about post election priorities. On cost of living, he will deal with supermarket price cap and £2 bis fare in first 100 days. He says UK Govt must engage on the constitution.
