Cargo bikes are too expensive:
If you can’t use them for the trips you need to make.
If you’re worried about it getting stolen and so don’t use it for trips where it’d be left on its own.

I have an enduro EMTB and it has transformed my mountain biking. The thing for me would be the theft issue, so many bikes are stolen now and many never recovered. My £300 commuter is easily replaceable, less attractive. A £2000 ebike not so much.
