So proud of my team @CEIbahamas and all of the great work that we do! Living our mission: leadership effecting change.
'The Bahamas may no longer exist in the future.' The Bahamas is on the frontline of the climate crisis where the oceans and animals that call it home are being badly impacted. Corals are dying at an alarming rate and sea turtles are under threat. @Noel_Phillips reports.

The bad news is out: Hakai Magazine is shutting down at the end of 2024. We’re incredibly sad, but our team is proud of the great work we’ve done these past 10 years. We have 5 more months of beautiful and unique coastal stories to come. More info here: mailchi.mp/hakaimagazine/imp

You heard it here first! (HT @PetraJLarsen for reminder). Congratulations to Andrew and team on these results. Paper: nature.com/articles/s41561-0

"That's a stunning result" (comment from audience) as Prof Andrew Sweetman presents evidence of unexpected oxygen generation in abyssal sediments. How is it happening? Unsolved mystery here at @150_challenger #Challenger150

Whoever's responsible for the Microsoft outage is getting fired anyway, so the smart thing to do would be knock Teams out for the day too and leave a hero.

Important study once again shows that electric shark deterrents can reduce shark bite probability by ~50%, this time for white, tiger and bull sharks, the three species most responsible for shark bites. They're the obvious way to reduce your bite risk! nature.com/articles/s41598-0

The lack of comprehensive data on whale sharks in the Bahamas poses a significant concern, especially considering their importance for global tourism and the potential role of the Bahamas in their migratory routes. buff.ly/466BcNG

*Business* leaders were stressing the need for strong universities on @BBCr4today this am, but I’ve seen very little on how next gov will support them @bphillipsonMP. Seems like one area that will boost economy, education, R&D etc etc.

That tweet so triggering bey. Tipping culture is getting crazy and I blame the Americans, fully. They are the ones that started flipping the screen around to ask for a tip when you’re literally just ordering a coffee. It’s tip-shaming.😂 I’d like everyone to know that even though gratuity is included it is not mandatory. I have refused to pay it at restaurants in The Bahamas and elsewhere when the service was woefully inadequate. When it comes to tipping, I don’t mind putting a little extra down especially if the service was beyond superlatives, but what I don’t be into is the wait staff saying things like “Aw, the gratuity don’t come to me so make sure you leave some for me” or things of that nature. I’m the worst customer to say that to because I am gonna ask you “how much do you think your service was worth?” and if you say something ridiculous you’ll find out exactly how well I’ve mastered passive sarcastic insults gtfohwtbs 😂

If you put me down as a reviewer for a paper that is closely related to this publication of mine I would be glad to provide you with my review upon proof of authorship: frontiersin.org/articles/10.
You may not receive it from the @ScholarOneNews journal
I'm at the point where I can no longer justify the time taken to fix terrible #ManuscriptCentral issues. I am AE / reviwer for 3 journals under MC. I have to create reset passwords every time i try to move from one journal MC to another - ALSO
