Our @BaltCoPolice officers and staff deserve our full support. We're very excited to renovate, expand, and improve Precinct 11 in Essex. This is a significant investment in public safety that will make our communities safer.

The new precinct will have a public plaza and lobby, a memorial garden, and a 40-seat community room to make the public feel welcome and connect our officers with the residents they serve. I thank Chief McCullough and our @BaltCoPolice members for their commitment to our county.

I am grateful that the officer injured in today's shooting is awake and talking.   Thank you to our police and fire department for being quickly on the scene, and the incredible team at Shock Trauma for their quick response and care.         This violent attack is unacceptable and outrageous. My prayers are with the officer, his family, loved ones, and colleagues, and I am praying for his full and quick recovery.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., officers from our Pikesville Precinct were responding to a suspicious person/indecent exposure call along a trail off Milford Mill Road when they were fired upon by an armed subject. One officer was struck and transported to Shock Trauma.
