Beat the heat! ☀️ Baltimore County has countless public places that work as havens from the heat—come hang out in our @bcplinfo libraries, shopping centers, senior centers, and more to stay cool. More tips: linktr.ee/BaltCoGov
Beat the heat; Check on older, sick or frail people daily. Operate your air conditioner or fans when possible. Opt for drinking lots of liquids specifically water, even if you do not feel thirsty. Lay low and schedule strenuous activities during the coolest time of the day. Include your pets in your COOLING plan; keep them sheltered and hydrated. Never leave a child, disabled adult or pet inside a parked car. Gather at public air-conditioned locations such as Baltimore County libraries, senior centers, movies, malls, etc.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., officers from our Pikesville Precinct were responding to a suspicious person/indecent exposure call along a trail off Milford Mill Road when they were fired upon by an armed subject. One officer was struck and transported to Shock Trauma.

A Baltimore County police officer was shot today. My prayers are with the officer, as well as his family, loved ones, and colleagues in the Baltimore County Police Department. Our first responders put their lives on the line for our residents every day, and we are grateful for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice. We are continuing to pray for a quick recovery, and will share additional information as it becomes available.

Here's the view from the top of "Recycling Everest." It's where Baltimore County's collected recyclables end up. I toured their materials recovery facility (MRF, or "murf") yesterday. From here, each item is given a new life, or sent to its grave.
