Police Officer Carl Peterson was shot and killed as he wasusing a call box at the corner of West Lexington Street and Greene Street.  A man attacked him, took his revolver and shot him in thehead. The suspect was arrested a short time later and told officers that he didnot know why he shot Officer Peterson.  Officer Peterson had served with the Baltimore City PoliceDepartment for 20 years. We will never forget.

Southwest District Homicide Arrest On June 11, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m., members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested 36-year-old Dedrick Coates at a home in the 200 block of S. Augusta Avenue. Coates was arrested without incident in connection with the May 5, 2026, murder of Musa Witherspoon that occurred in the 400 block of S. Gilmore Street. Dedrick Coates was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Southwest District Attempted Murder Arrest In reference to a shooting that occurred in the Southwest District, detectives have arrested 33-year-old Eric Simmons of Baltimore. Simmons was wanted in connection with the shooting of a 26-year-old male in the 1200 block of South Caton Avenue on October 6, 2021. On June 8, 2026, Eric Simmons was officially charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, assault, and handgun violations. He is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility on a no-bail status.

Northern District Attempted Murder Arrest Baltimore City detectives have arrested 51-year-old Antoine Burton in connection with a shooting that took place in the Northern District. Burton was wanted for the shooting of a 40-year-old male in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue on June 7, 2026. Quickly after the shooting, Northern District Action Team officers apprehended Antione Burton without incident in the 2400 block of Loyola Northway. He was subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and multiple handgun violations.

Northern District Attempted Murder Arrest In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Northern District, investigators have arrested 21-year-old Marvin Harrison. Harrison was wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred on May 13, 2026, in the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road. On June 3, 2026, Marvin Harrison was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder. ______________ Original Advisory Northern District Shooting Investigation On May 13, 2026, at approximately 9:18 p.m., patrol officers from the Northern District responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road. Upon arrival, officers found a 21-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. A second victim, a 38-year-old male, was later located with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. This victim had driven to the 2400 block of Dukeland Street from the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road after being shot. He was also taken to an area hospital for treatment. Northern District detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2466 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-Lockup.
