Today’s Supreme Court decision on the Voting Rights Act is basically a message to Black Americans who lived through the civil rights era and all their descendants. And the message is… F*** You. We only want white people voting. I’m mad AF. Are you?

We had a black president for eight years and not one white racist Republican redneck took a shot at him. Ever.

It will always be insane to me that Trump’s platform was just like “we should give jobs to Americans and keep criminals in jail” and the left just started foaming at the mouth and trying to kill his ass.

Biden did much to admire domestically but--& this is a mammoth "but"--his policy of attempting bipartisanship in a MAGA age, his reluctance to appoint an AG with the skill & temperament to prosecute the inciter of the Jan. 6 insurrection, to demonstrate to Americans the gravity of Jan. 6, has helped lead, or has directly led, us to the bitterly divided toxic fascist-adjacent/ oligarch-dominated country we are living in today.

Oh god. Journalists go to wars and prison. They're shot at and threatened by the state. I'm sure hearing distant gunshots was scary but enough with this self-centering of emotions. If you need therapy over it, go get it, but a journalist's "trauma" is not of public relevance.

I wasn’t happy when Clinton, Obama or Biden won, but I didn’t call them fascist/dangerous/threat to democracy. I didn’t hope someone would assassinate them. I went on with my life with gratitude. Friends on the left, please try this. Your life and our country will be better.

This weekend was a full-court press to rehab Trump's sagging polls, recast him as a statesman, and chastise Democrats. Outlets sanewashed the man who threatened to annihilate a civilization and insulted the Pope weeks ago as "somber and conciliatory." They blamed Democrats for having the nerve to voice disapproval of an unpopular president. Blamed liberals for "conspiracy theories" days after GOP officials couldn't admit how 600% is calculated. Trump rushed to 60 Minutes to lie about verifiable facts caught on camera from multiple angles, with zero pushback. And journalists proudly made themselves the story, sharing photos of themselves rushing to cover him. I tweet daily about the collapse of the Fourth Estate, their addiction to covering this president while the world crumbles. It was a masterclass in missing the moment, abandoning accountability, and further failing the public.
