Been seeing a lot of tweets like this. Wood bats during the summer have been around for a long time. Back then, only the best players would play in “travel ball” and they used wood because…they were prospects. Not an undersized 15/16 year old on JV traveling across the state.
Why the hell are 15/16s swinging wood in summer games? Half these guys can barely run one out with metal. Travel baseball is a mess.

If that was true then the strongest would be the best on the field. Best players I’ve worked with at the pro level weren’t very athletic. They’re just elite at doing the task their position requires. Weight room is there to #1 lower injury risk and #2 help increase performance where possible. It’s not a golden ticket to on field success.

After letting a HR, the starting pitcher decided to turn into Ray Lewis and spear the hitter as he was rounding third and heading home. But the funniest part of this video, is the reaction of announcer. He shows no emotion towards the HR, and even less when a player gets mauled for absolutely no reason 🤣

This umpire was calling a game. The kid at bat had two strikes on him. The pitcher threw a curve ball that looked like it was going to hit the batter but it broke and curved down over the plate for strike three- the ump rang him up. The kid immediately tapped his helmet like the pros do for an instant replay challenge. The umpire thought it was extremely disrespectful. He told the coach that he wasn’t going to tolerate any other kids doing that. He said he’s going to talk to the coaches before the games now because it’s an avenue for kids to argue balls and strikes without voicing they are arguing balls and strikes. Many people said the umpire was soft. Many said it’s a kids game, let them play and stop whining and man up. But some said if you give the kid an inch in showing disrespect then it can open the food gates and that he shouldn’t tolerate it and they agreed with him. Me personally? Im old school. You aren’t going to show me up whether you are the coach or the player. I’d do the same and give a warning to the coach and anyone else doing that afterwards is gone. What do you think? Do you think the umpire is overreacting like some people said or do you think he’s right in feeling it’s disrespectful?
This umpire confronted some parents that just wouldn’t stop. He told them to be quiet or he was going to make their team forfeit. They kept on going so….. he called “ballgame!” The heckling parents asked him if he felt better and he said “I feel fine, you feel okay?….the game is for your kid……you wanna argue balls and strikes in a little league game? Come on!” Then one of the parents says “and this guy’s a firefighter who protects your neighborhood!” 😳 Some people feel that maybe that guy’s Captain at the Fire Station needs to know how he’s acting out in public. Others said he should be banned all season. 💯 I can’t stand parents who act like that. I bet those kids were upset they didn’t get to play. The coach of that team should have intervened and got rid of that parent. Now his players paid the price for some “adult” who couldn’t keep his mouth shut. What would you do? Would you call his work and tell them what he did and how he’s acting? Should he be banned from the park for the rest of the season? How do you think his own kid felt?

Paul Skenes is an awesome human in case anyone was wondering. He was driving by the Ingomar Franklin Park Little League baseball fields last night and saw the lights on and just pulled on in. He was there over 2 hours signing, taking pictures and playing catch with the kids.

Back in college, I had a teammate who would always yell “let’s go make some seniors cry” every time we had a chance to eliminate a team from the tournament I still think about that quote every June
I think I'm going to cry with this Trojans team.
