From the credible source information a raid has been conducted at the house of Nojibar Molla S/O- Lt Arsad Ali Molla at Napara under Haroa PS and seized a lot of live bombs including explosive powder. Later leading on his statement two accused persons namely one Rajjak Molla S/O- Yead Ali Molla of Kaliyanoi under PS Haroa and another one namely Biswajit Nath S/O- Lt. Dasarathi Nath of Gopalpur under PS Haroa has been arrested and recovered from their possession a huge quantity of explosive powder as well as other explosive material. Investigation is going on.

In one such operation, Nazat Police carried out a raid near Baonia Ghat along the banks of the Vidyadhari River and seized 5 engine-powered vans loaded with illegally transported sand. Six persons were arrested in connection with the case. The arrested accused have been identified as Sushanta Sardar, Biswajit Nayek, Dudhakamal Ghanti, Bijoy Maity, Pratap Manna, and Gopal Mondal. Appropriate legal action has been initiated against them. In a separate operation conducted during the late hours of 19.05.2026, Matia Police intercepted two tractors in the Dhanyakuria area under Matia Police Station limits on suspicion of illegal soil transportation. Upon verification, both vehicles were seized and two drivers were arrested. Cases have been registered in both incidents, and further investigation is underway. Today, a significant Border Coordination Meeting was organized at Ghojadanga ICP under the initiative of Basirhat Police District. Today, in the presence of the District Magistrate of North 24 Parganas, Shilpa Gaurisaria, IAS and the Superintendent of Police of Basirhat Police District, Alaknanda Bhowal,IPS an important coordination meeting was held with senior officials of the Border Security Force, various Block Development Officers of the District, officials of the Land & Land Reforms Department, and other civil officials regarding border fencing and land acquisition along the international border. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on further strengthening security arrangements in the international border areas, expediting the border fencing work, and resolving various issues related to land acquisition. During these operations, persons involved in smuggling activities are being apprehended, and the rescued cattle are being kept in safe custody through due legal procedure. Cases are being registered against the arrested persons under relevant sections at various police stations of Basirhat Police District, and necessary legal action is being taken.
