Why we should care: science is arguably the most important force for human progress, maybe by a lot. More discoveries, better lives for all of us. If there’s a kid who could make a foundational discovery, we want to make sure they don’t spend their lives in the mines. 2/N

Hot off the press...Oak Wilt testing can now be done with leaves instead of branch segments, which makes testing more accessible to individual residents. Learn more in this article from our very own Laura Miles! canr.msu.edu/news/new-resear…

Hey Midwest pals! As temps rise, #oakwilt fungal mats are forming. lt means beetles carrying spores are on the move. Don't let them land on your oak wounds! Best advice? Hold off on pruning until mid-July to keep those oaks safe. Zoom in to see sap beetles👇 #OakWiltAwareness

Rps genes are used to manage the major soybean pathogen Phytophthora sojae, which causes Phytophthora stem and root rot (PRR). McCoy et al. show that widely used Rps genes are no longer effective for managing PRR in the United States, Canada & Argentina. nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
