Today we celebrated nearly 60 Becton Wildcats completing our Career Exploration Internship Program, gaining hands-on experience in healthcare, medicine, nursing, law, business, finance, engineering, technology, education, media, architecture, public service, veterinary science, culinary arts, and many other career fields. More than 10 years ago, this program started with just a handful of students. I still remember the trustee that said "high school interns, are you crazy?!" YES, I AM! Today, it has become one of the most transformative opportunities a high school can offer. Students don't just learn about careers, they experience them. They work alongside professionals, build confidence, develop workplace skills, make meaningful connections, and gain clarity about their future before investing years and thousands of dollars pursuing a path. At @BectonHS, we believe the best way to prepare students for the future is to let them live it now. Yesterday, we proudly celebrated our annual College, Career & Military Commitment Day as the Becton Class of 2026 announced their future plans, including attendance at nearly 60 different colleges and universities, pathways in pre-med, STEM, business, education, law, trades, and the arts, along with five students committing to serve our country in branches of the United States military. What makes this day so meaningful is that it represents far more than acceptances or commitments. It is the culmination of the entire Becton experience, a holistic approach centered on academic rigor, creativity, critical thinking, wellness, leadership, real-world internships, personalized guidance, college and SAT preparation, career exploration, athletics, performing arts, and strong student relationships. @BectonHS , we believe success is not one-size-fits-all.
