Now that all the party platforms have been released, it's a good time to announce promisetracker.ca! I've been working on a website to collect and track all of the promises that are being made for your vote. #bcpoli

Yes that's what the surgery is for.
Reminder: women don’t have penises

Mortimer spent years getting us to cut immigration.
Remember when the dream was to come to Canada or the U.S. with nothing, start a business and build wealth for your family. Apparently the modern version has adopted DEI, where politicians don’t want you to be more wealthy than them

Why is it good that a single person owns enough things that if he sold them all he would have a trillion dollars?

Nobody seems to be able to say why one person having access to a trillion dollars is good.

Knowing he's Serbian explains so much.
There are approximately as many Serbian-Canadians as there are Somali-Canadians (93~k vs 100~k), so can Serbians get their own officially-sanctioned heritage month or is our skin not dark enough for that?

But wealth isn't being created from an IPO. Existing wealth is being redistributed. IPOs don't create anything but a massive rug pull opportunity.
You don’t have to love Elon Musk to recognize what this headline says about us. A country that spends more time criticizing wealth creation than encouraging it sends a clear message to builders: your success is tolerated, not celebrated. Canada should be the best place in the world to build ambitious companies. Headlines like this make us look like we’re not quite ready for that.

Remember when we were going to have LA to Paris via spaceship in 30 minutes, a process that would have liquefied passengers?
SpaceX filed an application with the FCC petitioning to launch up to a million satellites as part of an “orbital data center.” It's become a big part of Elon Musk’s pitch to investors ahead of his massive SpaceX IPO. We asked an engineer to break down the biggest hurdles.

I see Conservative horny posting is back.
Do you think @PierrePoilievre is looking good? He's fit AF and looks awesome. Not like an old CEO from an episode of the Simpsons. Does he look fit to you?

Random Twitter accounts that actually read things are the last bastion between right wing influencer accounts and the sense of total oblivion.
We haven't talked enough about how cooked Canada is

I can't imagine a faster way to lose the youth than this.
The BC youth are with Kerry-Lynne Findlay

I mean the Western Alliance is basically the same several conservatives coordinating for a Christian Nationalist movement in Canada.
Late to this, but I can't help but notice the slogan is the same as that of the Alberta Prosperity Project and the Republican Party of Alberta.

Angelo Isidorou was caught operating astroturf organizations promoting conservative ideals in Alberta and BC. There is a level of cross-border coordination we should probably reckon with.

The Broadway Plan has this protection and development continues. The point is to motivate developers to look at plots that won't displace renters who can't otherwise afford to live in their city.
City of Burnaby boosts tenant protections further. A tenant renting an old apartment gets the right to come back when the new project is built and rent a brand new unit for the same old rent. Honestly who would develop under these conditions? Ironically it will choke new supply, ensuring rents stay higher than they should. burnaby.ca/our-city/news/202…

This policy coupled with broad upzoning to even low-rise means a wider distribution of development over more area, reducing the intense displacement that happens in already-dense renter-majority areas. If we can increase net housing without losing affordable units we should.

The US is gearing up to resettle Obergefell, the landmark Supreme Court decision that allowed gay marriage. Right wing activists want to remove SOGI which teaches tolerance of homosexual people. It's jeopardized because you're carrying water for bigots who want to take us back.
Yeah, Canada used to be incredibly homophobic, and then gay activists spent *decades* pushing for cultural change. It was a wonderful achievement. There’s no need for us to jeopardize our gains by whitewashing Islamist hatred.

The beautiful future where you can say the N word on TV and everything is worse.
Imagine: The BC Cons win the next election. DRIPA, SOGI, DEI, and the BCHRT all die. An era of institutional reform is ushered in. Woke is tossed in the trash where it belongs. The past decade can one day be remembered as some kind of terrible fever dream.

It is insane that none of these people care about health care or housing affordability. Their only desire is to make sure you can be racist to immigrants and indigenous people, say the N word and deny service to trans people legally.

Billionaires are buying millions of acres of land and increasing prices and firing hundreds of thousands and life is more expensive than ever but the real issue is a teaching guidelines document that says kids of all backgrounds should be treated with respect.

This is encouraging. Land value tax has more support than opposition in BC. People can generally agree that public-created land value (from public investments like transit) should return to the public rather than being a windfall to property owners - including property owners.
