City of Burnaby boosts tenant protections further. A tenant renting an old apartment gets the right to come back when the new project is built and rent a brand new unit for the same old rent.
Honestly who would develop under these conditions? Ironically it will choke new supply, ensuring rents stay higher than they should.

The US is gearing up to resettle Obergefell, the landmark Supreme Court decision that allowed gay marriage. Right wing activists want to remove SOGI which teaches tolerance of homosexual people. It's jeopardized because you're carrying water for bigots who want to take us back.
Yeah, Canada used to be incredibly homophobic, and then gay activists spent *decades* pushing for cultural change. It was a wonderful achievement. There’s no need for us to jeopardize our gains by whitewashing Islamist hatred.
