Thread of the YEAR 👇. Anyone who reads this, then votes for more of the same, is knowingly voting for thousands of avoidable deaths:
NEW: the collapse of emergency healthcare in England may be costing 500 lives every week, a close match for non-Covid excess deaths Let’s look at how we reach that conclusion, by taking a deep-dive into non-Covid excess mortality and its possible causes ft.com/content/f36c5daa-9c14…

Optimistic thread: A Ukrainian victory over fascist Russia could finish unfinished business from 1989, transforming the region.
A Ukrainian victory against Russia will be a paradigm-shifting event for European security - similar to what occurred in 1989. In fact, it could be something of a 1989 redux. 1/6

The UK Government has made an ad about the spiralling cost of living crisis, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative 🇬🇧 👉 @dontpayuk 👉 @eiecampaign 👊 we're on patreon: patreon.com/thejuicemedia

Just resharing this for no particular reason…
I'm still not sure people understand how ginormous China's wind & solar plans are This year it will install a record 156GW, says Bloomberg, citing a govt-linked thinktank For context, 156GW is more than any country in the world has IN TOTAL (bar US, CN) carbonbrief.org/analysis-wha…

Some lying Brextwat was frotting on here the other day how Europeans admire Britain for Brexit. The facts couldn’t be further from the truth:
The Cyprus Mail has these headlines today: 1/ UK inflation hits double digits, highest since 1982 2/ Britain faces ‘humanitarian crisis’ as energy costs soar, says health lobby 3/ UK economy shrank record 11% in 2020, worst since 1709 😵‍💫😬

Yeah, but Moscow also claimed Ukraine: - Shot down MH17 - Launched the Mariupol theatre air strike While claiming Ukraine did not: - Sink the Moskva - Annihilate that Crimean airbase So perhaps Moscow is not the best source for what Ukrainians did and did not do.

The details really matter here. Don’t rely on headlines; the government knows how to manipulate them

I remember full well this EXACT scenario being dismissed as “project fear”. Anyone who did so should no longer be listened to on any subject whatsoever
This govt is scared of water companies dumping sewage exposing that due to Brexit they can’t get hold of chemicals needed to treat raw sewage… So the govt turn a blind eye while the sewage dumps into our waters increase by (and this is incredible) 2,900% in 5 years.

In February, 🇷🇺prepared a parade in advance & purchased 45,000 body bags for the 1st wave of ethnic cleansing in occupied Ukraine. In August, russians realised that they would need those bags for themselves. Don’t buy a body bag for your neighbour, because you will go home in it.

Austerity is now clearly the biggest economic policy disaster in living memory. The Tories remain wedded to it, and it’s rebranded evolutions, purely to shore up support in a tiny slice of vicious, economically illiterate party members. We need rid of it, and them
21 Aug 2022
Well even the right minded economic commentators have noticed the laissez faire inflicted over the last decade has failed miserably and more of the same is completely inadequate for the situation we find ourselves in.

Went for a long walk in the country today. No insects. I mean, I saw one butterfly, one caterpillar, no bees AT ALL, no wasps, and maybe half a dozen flies. In 7 miles. Not one songbird either. What the hell???

All of those saying “no-one deserves etc”, this is a grown-ass woman, and a nasty one, at that. Cool your jets on the false equivalence with Russia’s horrific genocide in Ukraine
Alexander Dugin’s daughter, Darya was killed in a car bombing in Moscow tonight. Dugin is probably the most famous currently living proponent of the imperialist “Russkiy Mir” ideology apart from Putin himself. Darya recently travelled to Azovstal to take celebratory selfies.

Meanwhile, on Fail Island, Asda have contacted me to say they will reduce the cap on free roaming, so I will be dodging from wifi to wifi when I visit the EU. Thanks, Brexit
Whether visiting other countries for work or for pleasure, making calls, sending text messages and using data abroad cost the same as in your country in the EU. MEPs want to extend and update the legislation for this, making it fit for the coming decade.
