Like many of us, I'm ditching this dystopian hellscape in favour of Bluesky. Find me at: bsky.app/profile/bekkhilde.b…
It'll mostly be photos of fun books, broadsides etc from the library.
For anything band-related, we're on Insta:

See you on the other side!
At a restaurant in Camden and the group next to us are celebrating a birthday. The waiter just brought out a Colin the Caterpillar cake with a tombstone in it. We were absolutely howling. Happy 65th 💀😅
Desperately sad news.
Museums are treasure houses of objects and knowledge, founts of inspiration for future generations, places of wonder - and research. Places that invite us to see ourselves in a deep, wide context.
Our society and culture is impoverished if we lose them.
Having spent many hours behind the scenes in this one, poring over skeletal collections at National Museum Wales, working with archaeologists there, my heart is riven by this sad news.

Review | @CruelMotherBand – Cut Down For The Earth by @dominichemy. "The marriage of old traditional English murder ballads with the funereal despair of doom metal brings such joy in its fresh perspective." echoesanddust.com/2024/04/cr…
BEST NEWS EVER! @SocAntiquaries future (and the whole of the @BurlingtonHub learned socs) is secured! 🎉📚 A long time coming but now we can be certain our amazing #library and #collections will be preserved and continue to be made available for research 🙌
Today I'm cataloguing this 1685 book w/ embossed covers and found out about "Dutch gilt" #bindings c.1700 (the book is Dutch but the binding is a misnomer!)
Thanks to our neighbours @LinneanSociety I should add! Always great to be learning new things 😊 linnean.org/news/2022/07/01/…
We (@CruelMotherBand) bring our murder ballads to The Ship in Croydon tomorrow, supporting two amazing bands! There are a few tickets remaining at a mere £5, which can be bought in advance by DMing The Ship on the Other Place: facebook.com/theshipcroydon
Can anyone help me with the binding description for these boards? They're furry, like the kind you get on 18th-century minute books, but I'm not sure if this has a special name? I haven't come across it on printed books very often. #rarebooks#binding#speccols
