This is an important summary on #PFAS, powerful greenhouse gas contributors! We must shut off the industry spigot of forever chemicals that harm the atmosphere & our health. Please read our study on cancer in a PFAS exposed community here: doi.org/10.1177/117863022210… @BenLocwin

Read our new @EnvSciTech Viewpoint, "Stories of Global Chemical Pollution: Will We Ever Understand Environmental Persistence?" In light of the response to our "PFAS in rain" paper, we wanted to initiate a discussion about the basic problem we addressed. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…

Though it's easy to get swept up in partisanship and conflicting views promulgated on Twitter and through the media, @neiltyson's 'Cosmic Perspective' teaches us that we're all much more alike than we are different. We should act that way. #StarryMessenger

This has been known for 6 months. We didn't need an update to guidance and a press briefing. Fully immunized people should have resumed their normal behaviors 2 weeks after their immunizing dose. #VaccinesWork

UPDATE: If you are fully vaccinated against #COVID19, you can resume activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal or territorial laws, incl. local business and workplace guidance. More: bit.ly/3btJaFU

#Fact. Vaccination and concrete thresholds are the only ways out of the pandemic. Once vaccinated, it's as safe as it gets.
Today's CDC guidelines on what fully vaccinated people can do are too timid, too limited & fail to tie reopening guidance with vaccination status. As a result, we are missing a critical opportunity to incentivize Americans to be vaccinated. @Postopinions washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

Congratulations @JanssenUS on your soon-to-be #COVID19Vaccine authorization. This can really go no other way than Committee recommendation for #EUA. Let's tally the votes. #Ad26COV2

Because Chris Green is smart. As I warned in March, the public's reaction to the #pandemic is worse than the pathogen itself.
British MP resigns over UK lockdowns, stating: “The attempted cure is worse than the disease and this second six month phase will not see the delivery of a solution via mass vaccination...there are better alternatives to the government’s approach.” spectator.co.uk/article/why-…

The way the media reports statistics would have the public believe that #COVID19 is worse than the potential of pandemic flu. Plus, 4 out of 5 of the prior pandemics were #influenza. @JamesTodaroMD
Spanish Flu (1918 pandemic): 50 million deaths COVID-19: 1 million deaths Spanish Flu: Decreased life expectancy by 12 yrs COVID-19: Decreased life expectancy by 1 yr Spanish Flu: Average age of death was 28 y.o. COVID-19: Average age of death is 78 COVID-19 is no Spanish Flu.
The swiss cheese model pertains to layers of defensive interventions, preventing an incident.

I did read her recent book, thanks. People who think science works by vote shouldn't be in science and they shouldn't be science writers either.

How sciency is the science for opening schools? So sciency that @sciencemagazine just wrote: "There is now an evidence base on which to make decisions, and school closure should be undertaken with trepidation." (Translation: OPEN SCHOOLS NOW!) Science! science.sciencemag.org/conte…
