A month ago I had the honour of representing the young people of St Helens by speaking about knife crime @HouseofCommons. We must continue to speak out about this because now is the time for change, and no more innocent lives should be lost on our streets.

18 from 11 under Caldwell Perks - that's play off form and we're only 3 above the drop still. No doubt we'd have gone down under Lowe. Caldwell a brilliant appointment. #wafc

Only 1 team has less wins in the league than us now and that's Port Vale who are bottom #wafc

2 points in our last 5, double losses to Bolton with 0 shots on target at home and a spineless performance, only 5 teams with less goals scored in the league when we were promised an attacking brand, only 2 teams with less wins. No connection with the fanbase. Lowe must go! #wafc

Great discussion paper from @prospect_clark, shared by @pathwithanr about the state of Big Wealth in modern Britain. Lots of interesting takeaways, the main one being we need to look at policy through a wealth prism more lest this be an age of patrimonial capitalism. @IPPR

Really interesting article from @HattieSimpson_ on the growing divide between the Labour PLP and students. The sense that young people see engagement in youth politics and political parties as ‘careerist’ alluded to particularly rings true from my time in Cardiff. 🧵(1/2)
My latest for the @NewStatesman: Labour’s disconnect with student priorities is driving a youth exodus. Newcastle Labour Club has now followed Warwick in disaffiliating, as youth membership collapses under Starmer. Read here: newstatesman.com/politics/la…

Rather, cognitive diversity needs to be put back at the heart of these youth political parties to tackle the core of the issue of disillusionment, so that people don’t feel left behind by those that should be standing for them.

I think it is incumbent on youth political parties not to try to placate and manage the discontent felt with Westminster, by offering muted socials etc. This just repeats the mistakes parliamentary parties are making on a small-scale. Going to be three slides not two 😂😅

Been a long, long time since I’ve posted on here and honestly a lot has changed since I last did! I consciously took the decision a step back from being too political on socials for a number of reasons. 🧵

But I’m back now, with I feel a clearer understanding of how I can utilise socials as a platform for good. Like I’ve alluded to there were various other personal reasons for me stopping being political but the past is the past now and I’m excited for the future

I lost faith in the idea that social media generally was doing much good to be honest, having seen first hand how addictive it could be and I have agonised a lot about whether to even become political on it again, given we’re living in an age of surveillance capitalism

I felt that proselytising was becoming quite damaging too me and that it was actually making me a far less empathetic person - a big personal no no. On top of that, I got the sense that social media was exacerbating the problem

Really interesting to take part in this conversation a few weeks back. It was great to be able to ask a question about the role of compromise in international forums. Many thanks to @Tom_Matthew1 for promoting this event and to @sophie_daud for hosting! @YouthServiceSTH
Great to discuss all things #G7 with aspiring G7 Youth Summit applicants this evening. The "Y7" is an opportunity for young people to play their part at the highest level of international decision making. Thanks to @UKFutureLeaders for their work in inspiring the next generation.

Good to take part in my first Task and Finish Group meeting regarding St Helens' good childhood inquiry tonight. Hopeful that this group will drive positive change for the young people of St Helens based on the findings of the inquiry. @sthelenscouncil @childrensociety

My motion to Tackle Child Poverty is on the #MakeYourMark ballot! This means it's one of the top 10 prioritised issues for MYP's Let's get this motion to the @HouseofCommons so that a bill on this motion can be drafted because #nochildhascausedpoverty. @MarcusRashford @CPAGUK

One of the main titles on the @Conservatives website promotes Investing in Schools so that every child can 'succeed in life.' Surely this investment should be continued to half terms so that the poorest children in society can access food this Christmas? #nochildhascausedpoverty
