NEW: In a statement, @Janeese4DC’s campaign calls the OCF report on allegations of coordination with unions “absurd” and “politically motivated.” She says OCF violated its own process, and did not interview witnesses it said it did. The campaign says it will appeal.
NEWS: The D.C. Office of Campaign Finance is fining @Janeese4DC's campaign $16,000 for having "violated multiple provisions of District campaign finance law and the Fair Elections Program." OCF is also fining the union-backed @WashDC4all political action committee $4,000.

My campaign for re-election to the SBOE just submitted our first fundraising report. After just 1.5 weeks of fundraising, we hit way over the required number of donors to get into the Fair Elections Program! Thank you to everyone who contributed! Campaign launch coming soon.

JLG’s campaign policy shop is robust. Feedback is sought out, analyzed, & distilled into the platform. The quality I value most in a leader is a willingness to leave no stone unturned, to seek out differing & dissenting views. JLG simply doesn’t see disagreement as a threat.

Meanwhile in the Janeese listening sessions, it was fully open, freewheeling sessions. No pre-screening, no "I was so excited to ready your platform because..."...just honest conversations about issues in SIX different events. Janeese as mayor= all welcome, all heard!

This is the first “Late Night Hype” of the summer in DC. The Department of Parks and Rec has put these on since 2021 to give teenagers something positive to do. DPR will host weekly events like this for teens until September.

Lots of candidates for Mayor talking about how much they showed up to fight back against Congressional attacks in recent months. Well, I only saw ONE Mayoral candidate in the halls of Congress alongside me and that is @Janeese4DC. #JLG #DCision26

Our Pepco bills have skyrocketed faster than anywhere else in the country. Kenyan: it's not my fault! Also Kenyan: My dedicated volunteer just happens to be the longtime Pepco Executive I worked with to raise rates👇
This is Donna Cooper. Previously Pepco’s top lobbyist. She got him to kill an energy affordability measure in 2018. It costs DC families $300-$500 a year. Hundreds of millions for Pepco. A few mins waving a sign. Good deal for Pepco, bad deal for DC. hillrag.com/2026/06/01/chang…

Janeese Lewis George has earned endorsements from every major union, five sitting Councilmembers, and three elected SBOE members. Despite having less time on the Council than others in the race, she has built the broadest coalition of support. They trust her to lead this city.

I see a woman who’s gracious to a departing colleague on his last day as he resigns from office, looks to find common ground, and shows value in public service. Interesting choice to turn that around and use it as fodder for a campaign ad. That choice says more than she did.
Don’t take my word for it. Take hers.

I'm excited to share my endorsement of Philip Pannell and @MissKelsye, with the Free DC Slate, for DC Democratic Party National Committeeman and Committeewoman. A strong Democratic Party creates a strong DC, so make sure to vote on these positions at the end of your ballot!

Ward 1 is lucky it has three really great candidates running for Council. As we near Election Day, some of the attacks we’re seeing are getting silly. My unsolicited but earnest advice is to vote for who you’re most excited about #1, spend less time sniping, and rank all three!
🚨 A bit of interesting news this morning. There seems to be an effort underway by Ward-1 residents to encourage voters NOT to rank @aparnafordc in the June Primary.

Lewis George's camp flags this extremely weird doorhanger by McDuffie booster Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors touting endorsements he does not have.
Lying to win an election. @DCLabor and @DCNurses1 endorsed @Janeese4DC, NOT @kenyanmcduffie. And @IAFF36 has not endorsed.

Incredible local news lineup for DC
The Star launches in June with dramatically expanded coverage of Washington politics and policy — and new coverage of D.C. itself. The District isn’t just the place where politics happens. It’s home to the people who pull the levers of power. It’s where they live and work and commute and eat and vote and navigate the unique intersection of politics and real life. The Star will cover all of it, from Donald Trump’s stamp on the District to the ambitions of its first new mayor in more than a decade. Who’s wielding power in D.C.? What’s driving them? What impact are they having on housing, schools, transportation and the District’s neighborhoods? What’s next for Home Rule? For statehood? And will the Nationals ever be good again? We’ll do it with the same rigor we bring to our coverage of national politics and policy, and we’ll do it with the best local reporting team in D.C. We’re excited to announce the start of that team today — veteran journalists you know and trust, plus newcomers who will bring fresh eyes to the vibrant and sometimes vexing place we all call home.
