Such a sad day for the @AltitudeTV family. Chris Dempsey is one of the nicest human beings I’ve ever met. He’s a fellow native. I’m gonna miss our thoughtful conversations about Denver sports. Scott Hastings, often blunt but always fair, you carry more than a quarter-century of @nuggets lore. Thanks for teaching all of us the game. Will never forget how emotional you got during the final seconds of Game Five in ‘23. Chris Marlowe — you are a mentor and a friend. Many of us consider you THE VOICE of Nuggets basketball. You will always be the voice. And we will truly miss that voice.

For me personally, these guys and Dempsey will be greatly missed around the arena. Getting to talk hoops in the media room with Marlowe and Hastings was always a highlight of my work day. It’s been a great run for them as the voices the Nuggets for two decades. Bittersweet.

#Avs captain Gabe Landeskog redefined the limits of being the archetype as a leader and a warrior in hockey during his comeback. He collected some hardware Tuesday because of that. denverpost.com/2026/06/09/av…

Really important year coming up for DaRon. Start of his career was essentially put on hold by the Achilles injury, then he didn’t get much run last season after the Nuggets put together what they felt was their deepest roster in years. They won’t be as deep next season.
DaRon Holmes II is the NBA's next breakout big: - Blend of 3PR TOV-averse passing volume is surpassed by only Horford; enables full-time PF - OREB volume relative to 3PR raises his off. floor even higher - 2-of-2 FTR 3PR combo = nuclear off. TS upside; was 83% FT last season

At some point, things just have to change. Good on Hart for speaking on this.
"I wish the ticket prices weren't as crazy as they are. A lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time unfortunately aren't able to get into the building. $7K, $8K is ridiculous." Josh Hart on the ticket prices for Game 3 of the NBA Finals at MSG:

Patrick is the standard. A huge loss for the paper and the Rockies beat. I’ll miss hanging out with him at Nuggets games, where he’s always been eager to lend a hand during his offseason.
Some bittersweet personal news. I’m leaving The Denver Post, having taken the company buyout. My last game is June 24. Too many people to thank here. I’ll miss so many, but especially ⁦@harding_at_mlb⁩. The Adventures of Bonnie and Peaches will continue. Thanks! #Rockies

So rewarding to watch KAT finally get to play in the Finals and have these moments after his career arc and everything he’s been through personally.
KAT: "I just felt a calm and a peace that had to be come from the woman above (his mom). I felt like a kid. It was just fun out here. It felt like I was a kid getting ready to go play my Saturday AAU games and Sunday AAU games. In a way I felt like I was seeing her in the stands"

Fox will be the punching bag I’m sure but why were any of the four guards San Antonio had on the floor closing over Dylan Harper

Adelman's fingerprints are all over the hoops scene here in Portland, both because of his time with the Blazers and his children who also had huge impacts. You know about David, but his daughter Kathy also was a standout with the Portland Pilots and coached at two high schools here. She was the head coach at my HS when I was in the basketball program and had a big impact on me so I am very thankful for Rick as well, although I never met him.
The membership of the National Basketball Coaches Association joins the NBA family in mourning the passing of legendary Head Coach and Hall of Famer, Rick Adelman. Rick Adelman coached in the NBA for 29 years, serving as a Head Coach for 23 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves. Over his coaching career, Rick won 1,042 games (10th all-time), was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021 and received the NBCA Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. Coach Adelman also enjoyed an eight-year NBA playing career with the San Diego Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Jazz, and Kansas City-Omaha Kings. Adelman will be remembered not only as a coach and a player, but also as a mentor to so many in the basketball community. Rick was a husband to Mary Kay for 56 years; father to Kathy, RJ, Laura, David, Caitlin, and Patrick; and a grandfather of twelve. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Adelman family during this difficult time.

Aside from being one of the winningest coaches of all time, Rick Adelman’s influence on David is obvious to anyone who watches the Nuggets. Erik Spoelstra told me that 10-year-old David would pull film edits in Rick’s home office and eagerly show Spo what Rick was working on. RIP

Seven different Western Conference champions in the last seven years. Seven different Eastern Conference champions in the last nine years. Almost half of the league has played in an NBA Finals in the last decade.

Should Alex Caruso be WCF MVP if OKC wins? Shai obviously has the best raw numbers, but his efficiency has been well below his standard and the team’s been better when he’s off the court. Caruso at 17 PPG on 58.1% from 3 awesome defense in a series that’s been decided by depth.

Utterly lame of both Nate and the Avs. And inexcusable when you consider that he didn’t talk after Game 2 or Game 3 that the team doesn’t make players available for exit interviews. Yesterday was the last chance.
Nathan MacKinnon will not be made available post game. Team rep says he's getting treatment.
