""And so, where I come down is to try to ensure that if we're going to lose all that forest, that we at least get something in return. And that's the marshes."
@VIMS_News@Salty_Serina
Acres of forest land in the U.S. is drowning from rising sea levels, creating one of the most striking indicators of climate change: ghost forests.
One scientist, who says the phenomenon is inevitable, is now working to ensure the marshes left behind offer some benefits.

Congratulations to lab member Kayleigh Granville for being awarded a 2023-2024 Jefferson Scholars Foundation Dissertation Year Fellowship. Kayleigh works on air-water greenhouse gas exchange over #seagrass at our Virginia Coast Reserve LTER site.

In Denmark, people return and recycle 93% of all bottles and cans♻️
In that way, the Danish bottle deposit system keeps the streets and parks clean🌳💚
It's a win-win - for the citizens and the environment!
What do you do with your empty bottles?
