REU student Andras gave an awesome talk this morning on his summer research in the @BerroLab - such a great way to start off the last day of #ABRCMS2023
Another great collaboration between @BerroLab and @ZhanglabY , where we show an evolutionarily conserved force transmission mechanism during clathrin-mediated endocytosis that makes us think End4 is a mini- and/or ancient- talin.

Connect a domain that binds F-actin only when being pulled (catch bond), to another domain that ruptures at a slightly higher force and forms condensate only at the membrane, you get a nice circuit for robust force transmission, invented by cells long ago and hidden until now.
