Per tutti gli altri bagnanti, piantare il proprio ombrellone sulla sabbia è vietato.
La celebre spiaggia è una lingua di sabbia stretta e delicatissima, già da tempo a numero chiuso. Secondo l'amministrazione, la selva di ombrelloni "selvaggi" non solo rovinava l'estetica del paesaggio, ma sottraeva troppo spazio vitale ai visitatori. L'obiettivo è quindi tutelare l'ambiente e restituire alla baia il suo aspetto naturale e selvaggio.
La misura, però, ha comprensibilmente spaccato in due l'opinione pubblica: tra chi difende la scelta ecologista e chi, pagando il biglietto d'accesso alla spiaggia, rivendica il diritto di proteggersi dal sole cocente.
