The signs have been installed. Cars still parking here. cc @corkcitycouncil @GardaTraffic
Replying to @CitizenW0lf
The signs haven't been installed but it shouldn't make a difference, it's illegal to park "in a manner in which it will interfere with the normal flow of traffic or which obstructs or endangers other traffic" A lot of sections don't look like construction zones to me.

📢Marina Park Update A small section of the Blackrock-Passage Greenway (from Atlantic Pond to Holland Park Greenway access ramp) will be temporarily closed for 3 months to facilitate the construction of the new children’s playground and woodland walkways. 🚴‍♀️Pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted onto the Marina Promenade, rejoining the Greenway at Holland Park.🚶 Thank you for your patience while we carry out these essential works. @corkbeo @CorkSafetyAlert @CorkChamber @CBA_cork @Corks96FM @CorksRedFM @yaycork

Have your say! 🗣️ 🚨 Cork Docklands to City Centre Road Network Improvement Scheme 🚨 Public consultation on the scheme has opened today and runs until March 10 2025. The proposed scheme supports the rejuvenation of Cork’s Docklands, designed to enhance public amenities in the area, and to improve the connectivity of the South Docklands with the city centre across all modes of transportation, but with an emphasis on walking, cycling and public transport, and seeks to improve road safety in the area. The scheme also includes the development of high-quality public realm and streetscapes, in line with the ambitious Docklands redevelopment programme. The measures proposed in the scheme include: 👉 Public realm improvements on Albert Quay East, Victoria Road, Albert Road, Marina Terrace etc.; 👉 Footpaths to be widened and repaved; 👉 Improved public lighting to be provided, and installation of new feature lighting; 👉 Introduction of a city centre-bound contra-flow bus lane on Victoria Road (North) and Albert Quay and an outbound bus lane on Albert Quay East & Victoria Road (North); 👉 Introduction of a two-way cycle track on Albert Quay and Victoria Road (North); Replacement of the Victoria Road / Centre Park Road Roundabout with a sustainable transport focused traffic signal-controlled junction; 👉 Improvement and reconfiguration of Monahan Road / Victoria Road junction and the Old Blackrock Road / Victoria Road junction; 👉 Introduction of a new residential access link between Marina Terrace and Rosefield Terrace; 👉 Kennedy Quay vehicular access from Albert Quay to be restricted with the primary vehicular access to Kennedy Quay to be from Marina Walk; 👉 Pedestrian and cycle crossing facilities will be provided at all junctions for the safety of vulnerable road users; 👉 Upgrading of all bus stops; 👉 Renewal of utility services, undergrounding of cables, etc. View the plans and make your submissions on buff.ly/38tZHrM

Cork folks. Received a reply regarding construction commencing soon in Albert Quay. There's no updates stating if the contraflow bike lane will be retained during construction as of now, will have to await a Traffic Management Plan from @corkcitycouncil .

Any chance you can suggest high visibility paint for cars Eamon since you’re so concerned, this black SUV with no lights on is barely visible. @eamonocuiv
TD uses Dáil time to call for mandatory high-vis for people cycling and for walking where there's no footpaths irishcycle.com/2024/11/10/td…

I submitted a service request regarding graffiti here to @corkcitycouncil but it was ignored. It took me two minutes with a sponge to clean, projects seem to be left to rot after the grand opening photoshoot has hit the papers with smiling politicians getting their praise.

The Marina Promenade project under construction has one section partially complete and open to the public, yet the seating is closed off. I suspect this is to keep it pristine for that grand opening photoshoot. This area will be neglected after that grand opening per usual.
