Iโm going home tomorrow from a week in Belgium and the Netherlands with my family (And Doggies).
Is always nice to return - a week away is enough for me. BUT
Boy, will I miss seeing the roads full of cyclists.

The cycle paths are amazing and run along side every road. Itโs not quite the same in Belgium, but it still shows up the UK.

I have found it amusing how Iโve needed to be looking all around like an owl at every junction - partly due to the unfamiliarity of driving on the opposite side of the road - but mostly as cyclists are EVERYWHERE and Iโm very happy to give them priority at all times.

And Iโve not cycled once (despite wanting too deeply).
Weโve driven around - even into the centre of Amsterdam and Bruges and the roads have been terrific.

Mostly functional, old, sit-up-and-beg step through frames.
No helmets.
No Lycra (other than the few โproperโ riders.

My God, Iโve been impressed with my riders this week. My fellow instructors are making a real song-and-dance about the weather, but NOT ONE kid has complained. #childrenarethefuture

Something not mentioned here: The pavements arenโt designed for 2 Tons of rubber and metal, so degrades badly.
Itโs just bloody selfish!
