My native Alabama often is recognized by its most sinister sons—Wallace, Bull Connor, the 16th St. bombers—or sports figures Bryant & Saban. The fuller story belongs to @repjohnlewis, Rosa Parks, Frank Johnson, Autherine Lucy, Helen Keller, Nelle Harper Lee and so many others.

A hall of fame class of journalists is leaving @AP today — 40 reporters and photo/videographers who've taken buyouts as our US news operation shrinks. They've broken untold stories, captured searing images, held power to account and made us all smarter. We'll miss them dearly.

You know Nick Saban still has an office and draws a check in Tuscaloosa, right? Any tweets about that when Alabama got a mulligan playoff spot in football?
Bruce Pearl still on Auburn payroll while employed at CBS, TNT, per public record dlvr.it/TRW1T2

Just totally unacceptable for a coach to allow his team to perform like this in a rivalry game. And the NIL era is no excuse.
blood everywhere in the box score for Auburn, as Alabama is... 16 in points in the paint 6 in rebounds 8 in second-chance points 11 in points off turnovers -6 in turnovers just a listless performance from a team in a rivalry game opportunity like this one

With a Bediako asterisk, of course. But who’s counting.
Florida running Arkansas out of the gym in Gainesville up 24 late in the first half. Gators will clinch at least a share of the SEC regular-season title if they close this out. Only Alabama could tie them.

This is a huge loss for journalists and others who follow politics. @Gallup has been the top source for presidential approval since FDR and particularly valuable because of that historical context with apples-to-apples numbers that allow us to make comparisons and see patterns.

The Star-Tribune has done a great job. They’ve responsibly investigated real welfare fraud while also dispelling online smears of non-fraudulent companies targeted by influencers, carefully reported the details of the ICE raids and shootings. Very difficult job for low pay.

in a world full of uncertainty, it's comforting to see that SEC officiating remains just as terrible as ever.
